This stuff is common for CBs. They're at a distinct disadvantage at their position, so they do whatever they can to get the upper hand. The ones that can hide these things best are usually the better CBs in the league. Sam Madison got a way with a lot of holding when he was in his prime too. This isn't a character issue and not necessarily a maturity issue either. It's something he just has to learn about the NFL. He won't get away with as much in the NFL as he did in college. I don't anticipate Vontae starting this year unless there is an injury. Too many penalties would be a liability, but that's to be expected from a CB that has a history of being physical. He'll soon figure out that he can utilize his athleticism instead and still be one of the best CBs in the league.

I heard an interview with Davis not to long ago. He didn't sound like a guy with maturity issues, rather more like a mindful, intelligent person.

But I guess if you are looking for something wrong, you can find it anywhere. I mean, look at all those incomplete passes Marino threw.

I didn't see it, but my read is not from the slant the reporter took.

If he held the jersey okay, bad move, not so uncommon with many reps.

The reach as a character issue was more likely taken out of context to what he (reporter) wanted to make it though. Perhaps just a little levity in practice when he thought he got a way with something and didn't.

making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Yeah! And what about throwing into coverage and those INTs? Yeah, sure. Marino wasn't mature and needed to grow up drinking smiley

Im beginnin to feel the comming of Jason Allen 2. Yeah Vontae will be a decent cb, but i feel Sean Smith will be the better of the two, otherwise a waist of a first round pick.

There is no basis for that feeling, except that JA and Vontae both play CB. If we get one Pro-Bowl CB and another very good one in this draft, regardless of which is which (Smith or Vontae), I'll be ecstatic!
