I would hire Rex as DC in a heartbeat. He's got a personal grudge against the jest and bills and, hates NE as well. Out of the limelight he would probably be tolerable.
I just don't see Elway bringing in DC as HC in DEN. If we did lose Joseph I would say hell yeah bring in Rex. Hate him when he is across the sidelines but would love having the guy on my side. He is a helluva DC.

Not us. The Broncos are interviewing Joseph for HC. Gase most likely will have a position to fill. Think he goes outside or does he promote from within?

Wow. Can you imagine the Rex Ryan effect? That's like the ultimate FU to the AFC east. That would be insane but I don't think GASE will invite that kind of drama in the locker room.
I don't mind having Rex as DC, but definitely not as a HC. He flaps his jaw too much & then has to insert foot into mouth. He's way too high above the radar as a HC. With him just focusing on a defense now that would be within his realm.

Not so fast. Rex Ryan is not the droid we'd be looking for. We all know his personality and I don't think he could work well with a young guy like Gase. Moreover, I don't believe, again based on character and personality, that Gase could work well with Ryan.
I have seen time after time in my life how a superior officer to a junior officer was finally passed over to the next rank to have that junior eclipse the senior in rank. That relationship never works when the junior becomes the superior to the senior in the same office setting. (Did you follow that?)
Falling to DC or other coaching position after holding the HC job for years will be horrendous for Ryan. I believe Ryan must hold out for another crack at being HC somewhere.
BTW, Vance Joseph isn't going anywhere. He'll be our guy again next year. The issue of Ryan becoming our DC is a moot issue, I believe.
I honestly can't see the "enthusiasm" for Joseph's name being thrown around for HC material.
He may be a good DC, but look at the Fins D this year. Not so good. Granted, there have been a lot of injuries (especially DBs), but he has a lot of talent on the front line (two Pro bowlers), and more often than not, they have been gashed for record numbers.
Joseph is not going anywhere. Maybe once he gets this D in the top 10?
And Cap, it may be unfair to him. I mean you get these great DEFENSIVE LINE players from other teams, Mario Williams, N. Suh, and they just don't do anything to help Cameron Wake. To me, they just cash their paychecks. Running teams gash us. To me, they are at fault and not the secondary. Touching the potential receiver is interference so if the secondary has to play dodge with the receivers forever because there is little or no pressure on the QB, receivers are going to get open.

No. Players from both NY and buffalo have said the biggest issue with him was lack of discipline. I don't want any coach on our staff that doesn't demand a tightly run unit.

It's true. On espn his former players blasted him and the espn jerkoffs said that it was the nail in the coffin for his career.

Good points.
I think REX is realizing his time as a HC is slipping away. He will realize he is great at one thing and HC ain't one of them.

Don't get me wrong; I think Joseph is a good DC and may do very well as a HC, but what he has done at Miami wouldn't excite me if I was a GM.
As to your comment (above), Wake and Suh are both having good seasons. The other DE is a problem spot. LBing corps is pretty much depleted. There are more DBs on the injury list than on the field.
Joseph's fault? No, but he is the DC. You do with what you have.
Denver seems to be hot for him. He (supposedly) would have been given the Denver job a few years ago, but Elway turned to Kubiak.
He has done some good things for this Dolphins' D, but to me, not enough.
He turned around Lippit. That guy was a Maddona campaign promise the first few games. Now he is one of the best at his position.
Losing Joseph will hurt, he got the defense to play better then it has in a while. The Defense , as talented and expensive as it is, caused us missing the playoffs year after year......The offense wasn't explosive, but the D stunk like a bathroom stall in Tijuana.
Personally, if I were Joseph I wouldn't take the Denver job. The expectations are really high based on past success. They don't have a QB which doesn't bode well. In all likelihood, whomever goes there will be shown the door in 3 years max.

RESPONSE: I expected much more out of the defense.

RESPONSE: BINGO! That's what I meant. From Dion Jordan to bringing in Williams and Suh....still we can't stop the run and can't put pressure on Brady ( and I only mention him because he holds the ball far longer than most other NFL QBs)
......The

RESPONSE: Precisely.....but what would a New Yorker/Floridian know about TJ?
Why is it everytime something good is going for us....Something bad happens.....
Joseph is a good D coordinator and one of the main reasons for the D turnaround and that we are in the playoffs....
Now he is leaving?
So they didnt sign him for 3 or 4 years? Just a 1 year deal?
Now the Morons in the radio are saying when landry time come to get paid
that we should let him walk...And use the rookie receiver in his place......I forgot the name of the commentator fool that said that.
Lippett a college WR, became a nfl starting cb in his second year. Not many players have done that. Tanne has been on the roster for 5 years and is just figuring out how to pee straight. These guys work hard and bust their **** saying they sucked is strong language imo.
