Remember the 2007 draft? We had 10 picks and the Cam regime kept talking about all 10 making the team.
We supposedly had our QB of the future, our NT, C, #1 WR, FB, and P of the future, along with some key role players. It hasn't exactly panned out that way.
Where are they now?
Round 1. Ginn. Still here.
2a. Beck. Cut.
2b. Satele. Traded for a 6th round pick (and a swap of 4th rounders).
3. Booker. Traded for a 4th round pick.
4. Soliai. Still here.
6a. Mauia. Cut.
6b. Mormino. Cut.
7a. Smith. Cut.
7b. Fields. Still here.
7c. Wright. Cut.
5 cut. 2 traded. 3 still here. Of the 3 that are here, Fields has been good and, unlike some others, I am pleased with Ginn's development. Soliai has done nothing. A draft that was supposed to bring us so many keepers has brought us 2 keepers and one guy who has been a dud so far; all of which makes me appreciate the current management team even more. Parcells and Ireland didn't draft the way I expected them to this year; but they made good decisions in 2008 and I trust that they did this year also.
Yes, that's very enlightening. I remember being stoked because nearly all those guys made our regular roster. It was obviously more to do with how bad we were rather than how good they were. Still, I think a few of those guys were victims of a change of system. Booker, Satele, Mauia, and Beck may all still have good careers. They just didn't fit the trifecta's mold for an NFL player.

You kidding? The way QBs get injured in this league, I'd probably have a chance of playing for an NFL team if I took a few snaps in some teams training camp.
I think Beck will get another chance, but only one. I also think Booker will do better next year. He's only had one bad year.
The Eagles drafted Lesean McCoy and still have Westbrook. IMO, If they thought so much of Booker, they wouldn't have drafted McCoy in the 2nd (53) after giving up a 4th for Booker. I think he is another Travis Minor.
BTW...watch out for the Eagles next year. They FINALLY got some weapons for McNabb! WR/KR Jeremy Macklin, RB LeSean McCoy, TE Cornelius Ingrim, LT Jason Peters and two brothers playing RG and RT in the Shawn and Stacy Andrews.
They just passed the Cowboys IMO and will fight it out with the Giants for the East. The idiot fans have to be happy about this draft.
Cam the genious. He passes on brady quinn in the first then has no other choice but to go after beck. Brilliant.
I remember almost crapping on my pants at that very moment. From that moment on, cameron was officially laveled as a dumba$$ by every single true dolphin fan on this planet.

Yes, just like 19 other teams passed on dan marino. you just never know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
That's not fair because I was having QB withdrawls after years of backup QB's. lol.
I wanted Quinn but I was not disappointed with Ginn. I was just happy to get a "skill" position.
Actually, at the time of the draft I really wanted....
#7 Patrick Willis
#20 LaMarr Woodley
#60 Ryan Kalil
#71 Trent Edwards
#108 Steve Breaston
#181 Ahmad Bradshaw
because I knew that they were going to turn out to be the best players available and could fit in a 3-4 defense because I also knew Cam Cameron & Randy Meuller would be fired after one year and Bill Parcels would be brought in.

I would say that I bet he comes closer to John Beck than Dan Marino.

Wait until after this season....you'll forget all about Quinn.

He showed flashes of greatness both in the returning game and as a receiver last year. Another year with pennington can only mean good things for ginn.
We have probably been touched on this sort of thing before but check out another WR that Chad worked with and the sort of improvement they experienced in their 3rd year together....
Laverneous Coles stats
Rookie 22/370/1 td
2nd year 59/868/7 td
3rd year 89/1,264/5 td
Ted Ginn Jr stats
Rookie 34/420/2 td
2nd year 56/790/2 td
3rd year ??????
Man, it is a long way to September. If Ted Ginn can put on 10 lbs, they would be identical in size. I think another year of working with CP will do wonders for TG.
