Okay well this may be biased a tad, being that i am from the great state of Iowa, but an Undrafted player that may be worth looking at here.
Mitch king - LB - Iowa.
His 6-2 280 frame makes him a bit of a smaller player, but he is very strong, very gifted, and very hard working, bit of a Zach Thomas if you wish to call it that. Plus I believe Iowa runs the 3-4 D, so he already has experience in that formation, also valuable as a DE.
Idk, what do you guys think, we ought to be able to get him pretty cheap, and if he dont work we can cut him, but we could use linebacker help, and we didnt aid that through the draft at all, so heres an option.
Everyone keeps forgetting we really need ILB help more than OLB! We not only have Porter, Wake, and Roth at OLB, but we still have Anderson and Moses. We have no depth inside.

Ireland said that Folsom will get his first crack at the "Moe" LB spot, behind Ayodele. He also specifically mentioned Wake, George, and Walden at OLB. So, that may mean that Kershaw is playing inside as well.

Here's how I see it:
Guys with experience at OLB at a pro level who have already shown promise:
Porter, Roth, Anderson, Wake, Moses (and there's still an chance we sign JT)
Guys with experience at ILB at a pro level who have shown promise:
Crowder, Ayodele
See what I'm talking about? Roth would be an experiment at ILB. Folsom's a rookie and a 7th-round pick. Torbor played terrible last year at ILB. Kershaw was undrafted and has been on 6 teams since 2006!

I don't disagree with you. But, I'm guessing that our perception is a lot different than the staff's. I think they're probably satisfied with Torbor as the main backup. I know the KC game was a disaster, but that was really mostly on Ayodele and Porter. Ayodele slid over to Crowder's spot and was invisible, and Porter didn't register a single thing on the stat sheet. We'll have to see how things play out.
Porter was game planned for at the end of the season and even Sporano said he was often double and tripple teamed.
Either way you look at it. Torbor was paid a lot of money and brought in to start at ILB and makes too much money to be a backup after being beat out by Ayodele. He was one of our first FA signees at the start of FA last year. Maybe he will improve this off season and compete with Ayodele.
4 yr/14 mil for a former backup is what you get when a team projects you as a starter. Backups don't make that kind of money. Ayodele was signed by Dallas for about the same money after a great year in Jax and was brought in to start.
