The secondary situation

With as many departures we had this offseason in the secondary, I can see why we really needed to spend some top picks to solidify that area, especially in our division.

I'm very optimistic that Davis is going to be a great CB for us over the years. I love a corner that agressively plays the run, it's like having an extra OLB out there.

I think that Bell's days at FS are numbered. I see him moving to SS, with Smith taking over at FS. Finally some tall speed back there to get over and on top of the deepest passing plays, breaking up or picking those jump balls to Moss.

Even Clemons from Clemson may push Allen for his job, and should be a solid special teams contributer and add quality depth.

Can't wait to see these guys on the field to make further judgements.

First of all, Bell is the Strong Safety and Wilson is the Free Safety.

Wilson is 27. Bell is 31 and both just signed pretty nice contracts. Bells days are numbered but only because of age.

I see Wilson eventually moving to SS when Bell moves on. This is a spot where Wilson has excelled in the past and Clemons moving into the FS spot if he can. Smith will get every opportunity at CB first but can always move to FS. Clemons has 4.3/4.4 speed.

If you notice something about our secondary...they are all almost interchangeable. They are all at about 6 ft tall and 200 lbs and all have 4.4 speed.

GIBRIL WILSON is going ALL-PRO for us next year. Slooow down there. We are stacked at S position now and have depth with the versatility of Smith. He's gotta be our passing down 3rd DB. There may be some growing pains for these rookie youngblood CBs, BUT THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT!

Thank you to the FO, my two FAVORITE CBs in the DRAFT and you got booth, just like I suggested we should-with impending UFA W Allen in 2010.

Add in the PASS-RUSHING specialist CAM WAKE and possibly JT.

And we just forced teams to run between the tackles. We've got to be STRONG up the MIDDLE now.

Jason Allen should find a home on ST.

Ireland just stated "Sean Smith is a CORNER-BACK at we drafted him to play that position".

Yep! We need a tall CB to cover guys like Moss.

I don't see Smith covering Moss...not that many CB's can. Moss has 4.3 speed and Smith has 4.5 speed. Davis is the faster and more athletic of the two so maybe he draws the assignment...down the road. I think Will Allen will handle it until they get acclimated. Just MO though.
