I'll make up my mind on this minor controversy above about whether Gase is good with respect to Tannehill when I see whether Tannehill remains in the same traditional offense that assumes he is Bob Griese or Tom Brady, instead of switching him to an offense recognizing that he is, instead, Colin Kaepernick.

Sam He already is a good QB. But he needs coaching and support to be great. Not so sure Marino would have been Marino without Shula.
All I have to say is , 5 yrs ago the Miami Dolphins staff couldn't get a phone call with Peyton Manning. Dan Marino had to call him. Now he's stopping by for "lunch". If you don't see the huge improvement a new head coach makes, I can't help you.
I hope to see the huge improvement during the regular season. Until then posts like this fall under the heading of, "a lot more sunshine blown up our asses."

I am no fan of Philbin, but rewind and think about your statement for a minute. Aaron Rodgers is under contract with another NFL team, Peyton Manning isnt, he is retired... Big Big difference... When have you ever seen a QB under contract of one team in the facility of another team? In fact when have you seen any player under contract with one team in the facility of another team to meet with an opposing coach or just have lunch....

All things are subject to interpretation whichever interpretation prevails at a given time is a function of power and not truth.

Ahhhhh you get my point. I dont think anyone retired, or otherwise came to see us during that tenure. Jimmy Johnson hosted more then a few Cowboys down here in the stadium and on his boat. Didn't Philbin almost get thrown out of NFL Draft combine because they had no Idea who the hell he was? Philbin wasn't our first choice. He wasn't our second or Third. The Dolphins were turned down more times then a bed at a Holiday Inn. Ross was a local Billionaire who couldn't even buy a local politician for some support to fix up the stadium. Now we had the number one Head coach prospect pick US , and he has the Superbowl winning QB stopping by our facility for "lunch". Think about that for a minute. Just a few short years ago we had bullygate and were laughing stocks. Things are looking up bro. Its Tannys year if they get him the help he deserves.
We'll see but if he isn't running a read option come September...if I were you, Treasure, I wouldn't bet my life on it....in fact, I wouldn't bet a dollar on it.
No offense ChyrenB I've seen him in person and he's an incredible athlete. He can do it he just needs a Oline to block and an offense that actually keeps them guess so they don't blitz every play.
Are you talking about Ryan or Peyton. LOL. Just kiddin. Well, a traditional offense is easier to figure out in that respect than a read option. With a traditional offense, whether it is going to be a pass is often even DICTATED by the down and the yardage needed for a first down.
A QB that does not pass well under pressure and tends to hold on to the ball too long dictates that you put on a ferocious pass rush rather than playing coverage. That is if you're the opposing team.
So it's like an endless circle if you still play him in a traditional pro set.
I'll admit that Treasure can be a bit of a homer when it comes to RT17, but some of you guys are completely overboard with the bashing of him as well, you don't throw for around 4000 yards 2 or 3 years in a row and suck as bad as some of you make him out to be, he's not Dan Marino and never will be, but he's damn sure not Beck or Henne either. Put the right players around him with the right coaches and I believe Ryan can take his game to the next level. Look around the league guys, great QBs you can count on one hand, lets give Gase and company a chance to do what they were brought in to do and that's been clear from the day he was hired.......fix Tannehill!
Dolphaholic so far he put up better numbers than henne.....But he cannot make it happen in crunch time....4th quater losing by 4 he just cant make it happen and throw a td and win a game. Its just not in him.
Of course i wish i was wrong.....But i got a bad feeling about him been the miami dolphins qb. I think we will be drafting a qb in the first round again next year.
