dolphin back your guy to the hilt. Not one player in this draft has proven a damn thing. Everybody has a player that they want to see make it. I liked Nate Sudfeld if the Phins had drafted him I would probably be posting as you are about him.
Brady, Brady, Brady..lol. Look, pointing at Brady every time someone points out the obvious about low round players is like pointing to Jed Clamppet and saying "See, shooting at small game and striking oil IS a GREAT investment strategy" (Beverley Hillbillies reference for you youngsters)
No, having a strong arm doesn't mean you'll be a successful QB in the NFL (Ryan Leaf, Jamarcus Russel) but NOT having one almost assures you won't be, EVEN if you've got the intangibles (Jay Fiedler anyone?) But keep shooting at Raccoons and hoping to strike oil..

Yeah, it's kinda strange that with Matt Moore almost splitting and getting old as well, people would actually "bitch and moan" about us signing a 7th round QB to bring in pre-season and to see what he's got and hedge our bets in case either Tanny or Moore steps into a gopher hole between now and September or even afterwards.

Montana, Pennington, Manning, Brady, none known for strong arms. All were pretty decent QB's.
Fiedler had intangibles???
I've watched every snap Doughty took last year; was just trying to shed light on his skills as I thought people would be happy to know more about a Dolphin draft pick.

Did I say that? No. Did Dan say that? you don't know.
You are SPECULATING that Dan recommended the FO pick him, not to mention the theory that he has any say in the WAR ROOM. He is a PR guy and apprentice at best. Do they value his opinion? Most likely. Did they draft the guy based on Dan Marino's relationship or based on what the scouts saw from him? I'll lean towards the scouts report.
Amazing how a person can make something up in their head and try to pass it off as fact.
Yes. It's a great story and any Dolphin fan would love to find a diamond in the rough but at this point it more like a fairy tale.
I'll be rooting for the kid for sure. A Dolphin fan.....that's perfect.
I agree it was likely the scouts, but you would be foolish to think they didn't ask a HOF QB what he thought about the guy. You would be equally foolish to think they would draft a guy if Marino stated he didn't like him at all. I know for a fact that Doughty and Marino spent time together during Doughtys workout with the Dolphins, a large part of time.

Yeah I thought about you being there when I was freezing my ass off at work, still probably cool being there I'm sure

Good info and film on the kid. Some folks on this board only have respect for their pompous long winded posts.

Thanks. He was the Marino of the Hilltoppers. Just ike when Marino played for the Dolphin and I never had a feeling that the Hilltoppers were out of any game, I always felt like Doughty would somehow lead them to victory.
