about 11 mil minus rookie pool and he wants to be paid #1 CB in the league money....around 15 mil per year.

I'd like to see him get a Dolphins heavy incentive laden contract, so we can lock down one side of the field with a good "proven" NFL corner...and that would make our first pick a much easier BPA decision instead of coin flipping which need we a going to address first.

Well, he's not taking an incentive deal. Why would he? He will go to whoever offers the most money and Jax has a need and the $$$$$$. They have $53M in space. 49ers have $52M, Titans 30, NYG & Chi have 32.

He was set to make $14M under the franchise tag.

He may find that the market won't pay what he wants though...

That's what the pundits are saying in regard to his perceived worth. Still a lot of unknowns as to the particulars of his release and his mindset. The last thing you need is a locker room issue...but rare days when an MVP corner hits the market just a week out of the draft.

The big question I have is whether he is a product of the Panthers' elite defense and system (eg Maxwell and Seattle), or is he really a legit shutdown corner?

He seems more the latter than the former, but I would have slight reservations at giving a 28 year old (soon to be 29) CB tons of cash just in case he's more like Maxwell than Revis. He could certainly fill a need on our team, and if we could get him on a good deal that could be a good move for us. Problem is, signing him could put us right up against the cap and in cap hell. If we were one piece away that wouldn't be an issue, but we aren't one piece away so maybe it's best to build through the draft on this occasion?

guys, we need to stop wanting to overpay whatever FA comes on the market. To sign Norman would take a Suh type deal, which would mean we are paying a QB salary to 3 players on the team---even 2 is untenable. Norman was a 5th round pick, we need to stop going after FAs and do what the good teams do, focus on the draft and pick the right guys for once. From what I hear CAR thinks Norman is more a scheme player than anything and not worth the money he wants (and they know him best), does CAR even play the same D we want to?

A word of caution about Norman: his NFL career began later than most players. Even though he has only been in the league for 4 years, he will turn 29 this year. Not sure I would want to give a long-term contract to a soon-to-be-29-year-old CB. CB's tend to get old very fast in the NFL.

Right isn't he just a year or 2 younger than grimes? And don't want to pay him $16+ per year for multiple years. If we did that we'd be doomed for the next 5 years or more.

Ridiculous nonsense making sense like that! Absurd I'm telling you!

Why would the My Yammie Flounder do ANYTHING like a winning franchise? Seriously dude, you're off your freaking rocker.

I mean let's be honest -- our Clown in Chief authored "Dysfunction Franchises for Dummies!"

Do you need more evidence?
