The beginning of the end....

Mistakes thus far by Tannenbum......

1. Not cutting Earl Mitchell or more to the point, relying on him in 2016.

2. Trading down in 2016 for unreliable to bad players.

3. not outright cutting Koa Misi.

4. adding a problematic locker room guy (Williams) to an already fragile locker room.

5. Not extending Mathews, Miller and OV after 2014 season.

6. Forcing the pick of Jordan Phillips.

7. Free agent blunders of 2015.

8. Ignoring MLB and OG in 2015.

9. Got ONE starter in the 2015 draft and he was injured half the season.

10. Not hiring a REAL GM so he could continue to pull the strings.

What's next?

I agree with all but Matthews. His one good year happened to be his contract year.

If MT thinks he's fill all the holes through FA he'll package multiple picks and swing for the fences in round 1.

Not sure why anyone expected any differently. He was a joke in NY.

Mathews never got a shot but that was mostly under JP, Hickey and Ireland. Still yet another failure to identify talent.

They stuck him under Wallace, Gibson, Hartline and if not for an injury would have been under Stills.

Mathews showed better chemistry/play making ability last year than Stills, Cameron, Jennings.

Patriots have already inquired about RM. He will go there and tear it up if they get smart and dump Amendola...mark my word.

Two skill players the Pats have absolutely contacted during legal tampering: Rishard Matthews (wr) and Bilal Powell (rb).

The underlying issue is drafting. Teams can plug holes or two in Free Agency, but not revamp 1/4 of the roster like we are doing this year.

2012 Draft was one of our better recent drafts but it is still not good enough. 4 players which contributed and started of which 2 good players, 1 average QB. No Pro Bowls between them.

2013 was a disaster, 1 starter Jelani Jenkins and backup TE.

It would not shock me to see the Dolphins draft Paxton Lynch @ 13.

Looks like the jets are interested as well.

Until Ross and Tannenbaum are gone, it's pointless to have any more than a casual interest in this team..

Im still going with the stats on Maxwell, they just don't sound like a guy whose afraid to stick his head in there and make a tackle.

50+ solo tackles
#5 in team tackles
2 forced fumbles
top 15 in total tackles for all corners
12 games w/ out giving up a td

not bad numbers for a guy playing in a new offense that did not match his strengths.

ESPN sounds like the fans in Philly who said he quit on a play in game 1 or 2 and never let it go.

As far as signing free agents....maybe they will really screw up this year and then next year ross will sell team.

I don't see no other way.

Wait, he was playing in an offense? winking smiley

What about the stats that matter for a CB? Like passes defensed, int's?

He was 47th in PD's with 10 pd's (which was tied with Brice McCain), Grimes was 17th ranked and 9th ranked in 2013 by comparison. Rookies Marcus Peters had 29 pd's, Ronald Darby had 21.

In his best years in Seattle he had 12, two years in a row. He knew that scheme.

Tackle numbers for a Cb AFTER a pass has been completed is not that impressive to me. It's not unimportant but I would like to see more passes defensed for that many tackles. Should be a better ratio for a guy getting paid like a top corner.
