Depending on how things work out, the Fins could be in a real quandary with pass rushers.

Doubtful OV will resign with Miami, as there will be at least one team out there willing to pay him much more. It is reported Wake is refusing to budge (as of right now) on his contract. So, if that is the case and he is let go...Shelby is also a FA. If he sees what is going on with OV and Wake, then when it comes his time, he will be asking for more than he is worth. Will Miami give it to him?

Say Miami loses all three. Mario Williams comes into play, but again, because of his history in the NFL and knowing the situation in Miami, he may also ask for more than the going rate. The other FA DEs are difficult to gauge since Miami hasn't contacted any of them.

LBers. Miami has no big time LBer. Misi is in negotiations. It looks as tho he will resign. Miami still has a couple of possibilities on the roster...Jenkins, McCain. Nothing solid. Any good LBers out there that could come at a reasonable price?

Draft. We all know there are three need positions (on defense) for Miami...LB, DB, and depending on what happens with the above, DE.

IMO, the only LBer worth taking at 8 would be Jacks, even if he can't play in the first few weeks. There are quite a few DEs that could be there when Miami picks. Some mock drafts have Hargreaves going to Miami.

I have a feeling the only shot Miami is going to have is at DE. There are more top 10 DEs than either of the other two positions. I have a feeling both Jacks and Hargreaves will be gone by 8.

That is my take on things.

Didn't mention OL because 8 is too high to go after a guard and the top two OTs will (probably) be gone.

So you have these guys gone by 8.....

Tunsil
Stanley
Heargreaves
Jacks

and probably two QB's

Wentz and Goff

And obviously Jalen Ramsey

That leaves us Joey Bosa or DeForest Buckner.

(I think it's likely they are both gone)...

I also see both as strong side DE's in the 4-3. The only players I see as weak side pass rushers in a 4-3 are Spence and Lawson. I am starting to warm up on Shaq Lawson and think Spence will drop lower.

In any case we should have a nice pick waiting for us...

I don't see many top 10 DE's other than Bosa, Buckner and Lawson. I also think Zeke Elliott may slide up to the top 7.

1 Ten: Unless they can trade out and still stay in the top 7, I think they take Tunsil.

2 Cle: The FA market is near dead for QB's. They pretty much have to take a Qb....Wentz or Goff

3 SD: They have needs (as of now) all over but they lost their PB safety so Ramsey or Buckner are likely picks here.

4 Dal: Two head case DE's so Bosa is the likely pick.

5 Jax: Everyone is pegging Jack to go here but I don't see it. They like their 3 LB's and have bigger needs at DT and secondary. I think Buckner may be the pick.

6 Bal: Lots of needs but Ozzy will take BPA. That's Myles Jack.

7 SF: Need a QB so whoever is left is probably going to SF.

Now everything here will change Wednesday in FA.

Looks like Mario Williams is taking a physical for Miami today

I haven't seen or heard that, but what I am aware of is he left Miami and has told his agent he wants to visit 4-5 teams.

So they would pay Cam Wake $9.8M AND Williams $10M to play the same position? I don't get it. They are both SDE's and Wake is a specialist. Wake would have to move to the weak side and we would still need a base WDE.

Edit: I guess Williams played right end in Houston.

From what I read, Williams played both sides.

If Wake doesn't take a pay cut, I really can't see Miami keeping him.

With his age and injuries, another team would be foolish to pay him that kind of money. But then again, overpaying is the norm for pro sports.

Do we now take Stanley or Buckner or Ogbah or drop down and take Lawson Dodd or Darron lee than Su'a Cravens

Considering they are pursuing a scrub guard from Philly, we may be better of with Stanley.

I think Buckner would play a role similar to what Jared Odrick did when he was the base DE and nickle DT.

I am warming up to Lawson and it would not be a reach to take him at 8, IMO. 24.5 tackles for loss and 12.5 sacks last year. He's 6'3 270.

I think if we drop down, we should go after a DT like Robinson or a CB like ...Or stay put and take a CB.

Dodd is a little more raw but had almost identical stats as Lawson. He is also bigger at 6'5 275 but probably a SDE.

We could still take Myles Jack and put him on the weak side. He and Alonso could be interchangeable at MLB or WLB.

I also think there is a good chance now that we lose Lamar Miller so Zeke Elliott could be an option for the FO. Rumor has it they were going to take Gurley last year if he would have dropped.

We will know more in the next few days. Get read for a bunch of injury prone, under-producing, overpaid FA signings.
