now we got pat white to run the wildcat, and prob punt returns, which means, we got a wr instead of pennington lineing up and the defense HAS. To respect it, no 8 in the box or ginn will have alot of TD'S fellas with two outstanding cb's and we resign JT we are going to win it all. you heard it here first just like pat white and sean smith@@!!!
MIAMI HAS THE DOLPHINS THE GREATEST FOOTBALL TEAM THEY TAKE THE BALL FROM GOAL TO GOAL LIKE NO ONES EVER SEEN, THERE IN THE AIR, ON THE GROUND, THERE ALWAYS IN CONTROL, AND WHEN YOU SAY MIAMI!!!!!! YOUR TALKIN SUPERBOWL.

We were the only team in the NFL that had any success with the wildcat. We ran it first, and ran it well when they knew what was coming. We own the wildcat.
That sound you heard when we picked Pat White was 31 other NFL teams crapping their panties.
I'm a Pitt/Steelers fan here and after seeing Pat White yearly at WVU, the first thing I thought of was the wildcat when I saw the Phins drafted him. what do you think the chances of the wildcat becoming a primary offense? You don't see that type of offense used at the NFL level like it is in college...and maybe for good reason, maybe it won't be effective as a primary offense. But I think the Dolphins should try it, they picked up a great weapon with some explosive speed. So assuming it's effective in the preseason, does miami come out in the wildcat to start the season and see where it gets them?

Last year we ran the wildcat about 3-4 times per game from week three onward. I've read that the formation averaged over 7 yards per play, and I think I only saw it stopped for a loss maybe 4 times - mostly against Baltimore who is the only team that could stuff it with any regularity. With those numbers I don't see it going away any time soon. But no way we run it full time.
If you look at most teams, they can't run the wildcat, period. I really haven't seen any team run it with success, and when teams run it against us its a joke.
The only reason why the wild cat worked for us last year is that we had a unique mix of players to execute it. We had arguably two of the best RBs in the NFL, but very average wideouts. The middle of our O-line wasn't that great either. But the wildcat put RBs with great perimeter speed on the perimeter with our best blockers in front, without the need to pull our guards. And when teams began to overcompensate, we had great execution hitting the backside. But you probably won't see a lot of other teams do that well because most teams don't have Ricky Williams AND Ronnie Brown AND Jake Long.
Remember that 8 yard pass ronnie missed throught the middle of the field against baltimore with nobody in front of the wideout...... i forgot who the wideout was...... Pat white will not miss that throw. Call me a dam homer if you will. Im just hoping here.
No more 8, 9 men fronts against the phish.

I agree that white is a huge passing upgrade from the position but do you think he will be a downgrade from ronnie running out of the formation? I don't think you can say that white is a better up the middle RB than Ronnie and don't forget brown ran great from the position in the wildcat. don't know if white who is much smaller and not a true rb will be as good .
right so that is why I am a bit confused as to why everyone thinks white is going to be so much better in the WC--which is primarliy a running formation with passing as the element of suprise--seems like we upgraded passing and down graded running--not sure why that is a good thing
It is also possible to line White up in the shot gun w/ Ricky on one side and Ronnie on the other and to have the two RB's run a delayed cross.
White can hand off to the 1st guy or the 2nd guy,
-or he can throw it to a WR,
-or he can run behind either Ricky or Ronnie based on what the safeties do in response,
-or he can roll out to either side with the motion side RB providing a pass block, The WR's press deep on the edges and outs, while the backside RB turns up field ( where the safety USED TO BE) and White throws it to the wide open RB.
-or he fakes the hand-off to the 1st, then the 2nd, then rolls out the direction the 1st guy was who is now on a swing pattern and he throws the swing or runs it based on how the contain guy reacts to the RB.
And that is just with Pat in the shot-gun, like you said, line him up at the right flank and bring him back into the middle and watch how teams adjust containment and coverage to react to a secondary threat that doesn't even have the ball.
Seriously, 4-5 plays per game with one TD per game coming off a Pat White play would make him the steal of the draft.
DUH AGAIN I HOPE YOU FINALY GET THE PICTURE THIS MEANS NO ONE WILL SHUT DOWN THE WILDCAT! WHEN WHITE IS TAKING THE SHOT GUN, WITH BROWN AND WILLIAMS, SIDE BY SIDE HIM mwhhahahhaahhahhaahhh like i said DA DA DA DA DA DA TONIGHT ON SPORTS CENTER!!!!! MWAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHH

I think it was Ghoti, if you look at the other old topic you brought up, Anonymous user was Ghoti, if you look at someone quoting him before he must have deleted his account, which made him anonymous user...

Those were mood swings Chyrene. The sign of a truly demented person. Drugs are wonderful when they work , but differences in body chemistry tend to make them work in different ways at different times of the day. I deal with people like this daily. Depending on what time of the day you are called you get totally different people , all crazy , all the same person.

Not so sure about that, Treasure; Miami has had their share of them, starting with the very first pick Miami ever had -- Rick Norton, QB. Granted, he had his jaw broken, but even before and after, he didn't play well.
