Why is Cravens afraid to run the 40 on the same field as everyone else?

Dolphins seem to be addressing every position EXCEPT DT in the FA.

They are nuts if they don't come out of this ridiculously DEEP draft with one of these DT's in the first 3 rounds....

DeForest Buckner: 6'7 291
Jarran Reed: 6'3 311
A'Shawn Robinson: 6'4 320
Sheldon Rankins: 6'1 304
Vernon Butler: 6'3 325
Andrew Billings: 6'2 310
Kenny Clark: 6'3 310
Austin Johnson: 6'4 322
Adolphus Washington: 6'3 297
Chris Jones 6'5 300

There are at least 10 more...but these are best fits.

If Washington is there in the 2nd or 3rd grab him. Bosa got all the press but this guy was a beast.

Daniel Jeremiah said the same for Austin Johnson and Carl Nassib although not as much press as Bosa of course.

OK...Now who do we take at 13?

AShawn Robinson? William Jackson? Jarran Reed? Derrick Henry? Jack Conklin? Kevin Dodd? Sheldon Rankins

Ezekial Elliott, Ronnie Stanley, Hargreaves are all gone.

revisiting the topic of this thread....

I'm sure we will sign more free agents but I'm not optimistic about the future signings. Why?

Latest visits...

Chris Clemons: has not been a good player for two or three years. he's old.

Jason Jones: We need a run defender to team up with Wake. He is not it.

Brandon Weeden: Really?

So if the draft were tomorrow what would we need?

Guard: MT has seemingly decided that 31.75 year old, Jermon Bushrod will be our starting LG so RG is either Billy Turner or a draft pick. Not typically a value at 13 for RG.

zone corner: Cb's that get drafted high are usually of the man press, shut down corner types.

base SDE: Again, it's usually the pass rushers that go high in the draft.

starting DT: Doesn't seem to be a priority for the "experts" in the FO but they will regret it come September.

My first point is why not sign Even Mathis and Nick Fairley? They are not commanding big contracts and offer an immediate upgrade. We can still utilize Bushrod as a backup option at tackle. This also allows you to go into the draft and have a very good shot at getting a good DE and CB as well as a guard in later rounds....and maybe a FS.

I like William Jackson III in the first over Apple, McKenzie and Hargreaves.

I like Jackson he is kinda thin though concerned about him bringing down the big guys in the nfl. I think Hargraves and Alexander are the alpha corners in this draft. Although I could live w/ all 3 across from Maxwell.

Zach Thomas was 225 when he was drafted. Just sayin'.

I wrote that before Jack Measured in at 240. I think he is the best player in the draft. Has better hips than Jalen Ramsey in coverage.

That being said, Zach was a 5th round pick and the exception, not the rule. Most smaller linebackers don't hold up well.

I don't blame the defensive line. They are slow, all defensive tackles are slow. Their game is gap fitting, squeezing the hole, etc. In pass game it's simple, they push the pocket. Minor movement. They don't do much.

The linebackers need to perform! They are the heart of the defense. they need to fly.

Just realized this today after reading Misi's comments about working out with Alonso and after a pre-draft visit last week.

Our starting LB'er unit could end up being S'ua, Kiko and Koa. Just found that kind of amusing. eye popping smiley

Sounds like a Hawaiian law firm.
