Seriously, this is a bad draft at ILB and NT. We're not going to reach for a guy to just fill a need.
We needed a CB and both Maualuga and Laurenaitis were taken before our 2nd round pick, so I'd say there weren't any ILBs worth that pick on the board. Too bad, though. We REALLY need an ILB.
Are you guys serious? Miami is finding ways to score points, what is wrong with that? Do you know what a problem White presents to a defense throwing him in our package, wildcat or no wildcat who cares the point is to score!!!! this guy is a freak athlete. Runs like a receiver, throws a great ball, and I'm sure he can catch and he's a winner. This guy immediately made our offense better, dont we have to score more than the other team to win.
Face it already, this wildcat package is part of our offense, it's not a gimmick anymore and now we have the perfect player to run it. Guess what, they just told the rest of the league that they're going to keep running it and taking it to another level, now come and stop it if you can.
I love the pick, instead of getting a regular receiver to join the bunch we already have, they pick a guy that presents problems for the other team right away. I love it!!!!!
I don't want to "find ways to score points" so that we can win an AFC championship and end up with the 25th pick in the draft the following year. I want a legitimate, solid offense that can win in December.

WHy are you lost? Don't you think we need more and better CB's to win the AFC East and with our 2009 Schedule. I didn't see us drafting any LB's early, like others thought, We picked up Cameron Wake, we resigned Crowder. Joey Porter went to the probowl ROth held the edge fairly well for switching positions. Now lets look out who is going to cover, Wes Welker, Randy Moss, Terrell Owens Lee Evans...twice a year each at least. Then you have Roddy White, and company to cover, and Vincent Jackson, Chambers,...Drew Brees and Company, Peyton Manning and company, Carolina's STeve Smith, Andre Johnson, Hines Ward, Santonio Homes, etc. I will be surprised if we don't take another CB in the next few rounds. Pat WHite pick keeps the wildcat alive. Opposing Defensive cordinators learned the best way to defend it is to stack the box and load the line of scrimmage, becasue 95% percent of the time it was a power run. Now with WHite, they have to honor the pass, which throws them all back into not knowing how to defend the wildcat. DO they practice all week for a power formation wildcat to have WHite throw out of it now more then run. Don't doubt the TRI, they are making headaches and forcing our opposition to be confused often and waste alot of practice time.
ps - and in all reality, we got Pat White for giving up JT for one injured season to the Skins, not our earned 2nd Rd pick. Pat WHite was free or a gift IMO,

As for DTs, those 3 guys you mentioned were DEs/OLBs. We're pretty set at DE (Langford/Merling), and there's a chance we'll sign JT which will give us Porter, Wake and JT at OLB. We really need help in the middle of our D (NT, IL.

And we may get JT back this year! It's like those moves in the NBA where a team trades a player with a big contract just so that that player can get cut and re-sign with the original team that traded him. It's a ridiculous scenario in the NBA but it happens a lot. I don't recall something like the JT thing happening in the NFL.
