Did Sims have anything to do with it? How about all those penalties? The Oline was either getting penalized or tanny was getting wrecked. And he still got right back up. Give it a break Sam. next your gonna say you missed the new Logo last night.
Heres the point. getting a new QB wont solve anything but your ego. Nothing. Nada. zero. the Number one QB prospect would come here and unravel. Aron Rodgers would get sacked just as quick , and the throws that Sim dropped and fumbled still would have been dropped and fumbled.
Oline. CB, MLB. TE. Thats what we need. that will bring results if we get capable players at those positions. Not a New QB. Stop it already. Your sounding more ignorant then a Jet Fan or something.
Wasn't the first quarter exactly what you want to see from the O?
It/he faltered when they quit the run for the most part and Tannehill running for the entire part. That was what was working.
Now saying Miller's hurt ankle the reason. What? Was Tannehill having to wrap it? Why no more QB runs?

Yeah and? We said all off season when will they address the Oline? And they never did. We have 0% depth and the only recent Oline draft pick, James is out for the season. Hell I said it back when we drafted That Turd Dion Jordon. I was like WTF? We have Cameron Wake and we move up , waste 2 draft picks on a DE? That was two Olineman that would have gotten us into the playoffs. We constantly ignore the position and draft these POS big bodies in the 3 and 4th rounds. We had 45 yds in penalties in a row. How do you want tanny to convert on a 3rd and 30? Your just not being fair Sam . your only choosing to see what you want to see.
We needed a DE when we drafted Jordan. Had that pick worked out, we wouldn't be worried and Cam Wake and Vernon and Shelby's contracts and be signing scrubs that were former 1st and 2nd round picks from other teams that gave up on them.
On the Tannehill front, I watched a different game than the posters on here and on the blogs for the Herald.
Perhaps it's just because I saw Tannehill do what I've never seen him do in four years or at A&M and that's be aggressive. Attack down the field. Even when scrambling from pressure, he kept his eyes down the field and was trying to make big plays. It was fantastic.
I'll take a loss like that over a win like the previous week every single time. Because you aren't going to be able to repeat playing against a team without their LT,WR,QB,HB and have your defense get a pick 6 every week.
But practice makes perfect, and if Tannehill keeps being aggressive and taking his shots down the field even when improvising, we'll get better at doing it. And those are the types of plays you need to make if you're going to be a legit playoff contender.
So we didn't make those plays last night, yep. That stinks. But at least we were attempting those plays last night which is more than I can say for the rest of time we've been struggling under Sparano and Philbin and Campbell.
Good points. Sam Sam your negativity must keep you up at night.

5.0. Dion Jordan was a luxury pick.I believe Tannehill was sacked 68 times that following season. It was a wasted pick if Jordan dropped to us. Giving up a 2nd and our first was just dumb, but even dumber since it was basically for depth at the position.

Thats how lucky we are.....We get a really high first rounder and there isnt a top prospect QB available.
We need to either draft a LB or OL in the first round then.
Those are the two main things that need to be corrected.
1. Stop the run.
2. Protect the QB.
If we could stop the run then it suddenly becomes easier to stop the pass.
And yes then address the CB and Safety position later on in the draft.
I know this needs to be addressed...grimes is getting eaten for lunch and jamar taylor is an TD machine for the other teams.

Take a few moments and think about that statment.Do you really think a New Rookie QB will make us a better team?
Or would trading that #3or whatever to get mor draft picks to fill the holes on the line , and CB, and MLB be a much better way to make the playoffs?
Think about it. Put down the alcohol, take a few deep breaths and realize it's a team sport. This isn't NASCAR with a driver and a crew chief.
I just can't understand why some people continue to call for the drafting of O-Linemen and DB's with our first round picks when that is EXACTLY what we have been doing for 10 years and still can't field a decent unit of either.
Neither unit is necessarily about one up raw physical ability. It's about guys who can work together, recognize what needs to be done, communicate with each other then execute as a unit. This is ESPECIALLY true of the OLine.
The Pats Oline currently has a 2nd rounder and 4th rounder a 5th rounder and TWO UNDRAFTEDS. As well the Panthers line has TWO UNDRAFTEDS and only ONE 1st round pick. OUR LINE started the year with THREE FIRST ROUND PICKS, TWO THIRD ROUND PICKS and HAS STILL SUCKED FROM DAY ONE!
Now I still say this is largely because of a QB who just has no pocket presence, ability to sense the rush, doesn't know when to scramble unless its a called play and simply takes to long to get the ball out.
But even if i accept the premise that Tannehill would be top tier if the OLine was better, spending first round picks and all our free agent money on linemen isn't the answer. I think this is the ONE PLACE that definitely shows UTTER lack of talent evaluation and coaching.
Albert was to damn old and injury prone to pay like we did. James isn't physical enough, Pouncey IS a talented guy physically but he just doesn't have the ability smarts wise or maturity wise or SOMETHING wise to recognize the D, communicate the blocking, and LEAD that line. Turner and Thomas seem clueless most of the time. How can the damn PATS find linemen like they do every time one goes down...how can Denver, Greenbay, Cincy??? It cant be as hard and cost as much as we seem to think it does.
We do need better play at OLine and secondary but we have proven for 10 years we are doing it the wrong way...

2008 11 5 Wild Card
2009 9 7 Miss Playoffs (Ryan Injured Week 12, out 3 games)

Remind away... Tannehill will not be the major reason if we miss the playoffs next year. In fact, if you think the team is going to be a winning playoff caliber team in the near future I believe you are delusional. The guy has already been paid... might as well use him up while rebuilding as quickly as possible.
I'm advocating the positions where an individual player can make the most impact towards helping the team win. A OLine functions as a unit, their individual talent has less impact then their cohesion as a unit. To a lesser degree the same is true for a secondary. Lets see how much impact Joe Haden had on the Browns:
2008 NFL AFC North 4th 4 12
2009 NFL AFC North 4th 5 11
2010 NFL AFC North 3rd 5 11
*Joe Haden Drafted*
2011 NFL AFC North 4th 4 12
2012 NFL AFC North 4th 5 11
2013 NFL AFC North 4th 4 12
2014 NFL AFC North 4th 7 9
2015 NFL AFC North 2 10
Compare that to what I said above:
Atlanta Falcons:
2005 8 8 No Playoffs
2006 7 9 No Playoffs
2007 4 12 No Playoffs
*Draft Matt Ryan*
2008 11 5 Wild Card
2009 9 7 Miss Playoffs (Ryan Injured Week 12, out 3 games)
2010 13 3 Divisional Champs Playoffs
2011 10 6 Wild Card Playoffs
2012 13 3 Divisional Champs Playoffs (Lose NFC Championship)
People can keep sticking their head in the sand over it all they want hoping to be the flash in the pan '99 Bucs or waiting for the one in a million Tom Brady from the 6th round. A Top QB doesn't guarantee success, but not having one guarantees the lack of it 85-90% of the time (which we have been busy proving for over a decade now).
