Campbell has been given a scheduling gift. Tennessee and Houston are must win games to imprint our players belief in him. Gotta win the games we're supposed to.
Dolphins should take the attitude that the season started last week. Actually Oct 29 vs New England. TN and Houston can be considered Campbell's preseason both should be wins.
I tell you what if Campbell goes 10-6 I would give him strong consideration for the HC position. Anything under I would see who else is out there. Right now he is doing well.

If the Dolphins go 10-6 and Campbell wouldn't get hired I think the fans would mutiny.

Even if Campbell goes 10-6, if I were Ross, I would still put my feelers out to see who is available and who would be interested. I would include Campbell in any and all interviews.
Even if Miami finishes under where we would all like them to finish, if the guys played hard and were in every game, I would still consider Campbell.
After Houston, the easy part of the schedule is done. If he can get to 8-8, that would also be a miracle.

I agree 100%. Campbell, regardless of the fact that he was given a team with a high talent level, has been given a turd sandwich in terms of a team with severe structural, coaching, and attitude problems. I hate to rain on people's parade but this team going 9-7 is going to be a stretch. I want the phins in the playoffs as much as anyone on this site but I can't realistically believe Campbell can do that in the time he has had to prepare. Which is none. If Campbell takes this team to a winning season, much less a playoff run, Ross would be a fool to remove him. When you strike gold, you don't move to another mine.
If Campbell can get this team to 9-7 or better, Ross had better hire him to the full time gig immediately. If he is able to salvage a winning season with the train wreck he was handed, he's nothing short of a miracle worker. In that event, if Ross didn't hire him, Campbell wouldn't be unemployed for long. That said, it's hard to imagine the win total for this year exceeding 6 or 7. I hope I'm wrong and we win them all, but the past decades have made me skeptical.

I agree with your sentiment. However my expectations aren't based on previous years performance but the state of our current team. I would be overjoyed if we turn it around and go a game or two deep in the playoffs. It would force the lame stream media to cover us.
