Week 1:

First rounders:

Amari Cooper: 5/47/0 9 targets (got punked/bitch slapped by a smurf)
Kevin White: PUP
Devante Parker: 1 snap, 0 everything
Nelson Agholor: 1/5/0, 2 targets
Breshad Perriman: Inactive

2nd Rounders:

Phillip Dorsett: 2/45/0, 3 targets (fumbled two punts)
Devin Smith: Inactive
Dorial Green-Beckham: Zero targets
Devin Funchess: 1/9/0, 2 targets

3rd rounders:

Tyler Lockett: 4/34/0, 4 targets (54 yard punt return TD)
Jalean Strong: ZERO
Chris Conley: ZERO
Sammie Coates: ZERO

Slow start for week 1. I believe DeVante Parker will eventually lead the class but may need a few weeks to get going.

You'd think that your number 1 draft choice would get more than one snap.

Again, I'll say it a million times. I just can't stand Philbin's reluctance to work rookies in and out.

Had Philbin been our coach instead of Shula, Marino would have sat behind David Woodley for years.

Hey Philbin, get over the fact that you were passed over in 15 odd jobs before you got the head man position! You're killing us.

Yeah, one of the few exceptions. But even then. The spotlight is on the QB. Every fan and newspaper is talking about the new QB or the old QB.

But even if you don't choose to start your first round draft pick, you've got to find out what he can do. You can only find out by EXTENSIVE game experience.

If not starting, at least in and out, in and out, in and out.

Come on, ONE SNAP FOR YOUR FIRST ROUND DRAFT CHOICE. He might as well have been a sixth rounder who barely made the team and he only made the team as injury insurance.

LOL chren by your theory if it was a 6 rounder who barely made the team. He would be inactive the whole year.

I think as far as devante parker i would give philbin the benefit of the doubt since parker is coming of surgery...

I would work him in slowly as well....

Now if by the 3rd or 4th game parker is still getting only a couple of snaps then i will complain.

It was an analogy, Sam. but let's see what will happen by the 4th game.

I rethink that and if by the second game parker doesnt get at least 15 snaps...i would be on philbins case.

Jarvis Landry started as a rookie as well.

Jamil Douglas started game 1.

UNDRAFTED rookie kicker and punter.

Jordan Phillips is getting snaps.

Zach Vigil is splitting first team reps.

That's 5 rookies this year alone!

That theory is way off base.

No need to rush Parker back. I would rather work him in slowly than to have him run a bad route and cause a pick.

Juwaun James started game one last year as well.....so easy to bash the coaching staff.......so hard to actually back it up with facts.........

Well, you don't get rid of both your punter and kicker (caution: I'm not questioning this move just saying it doesn't really fairly advance the position that Philbin is a risk taker) and then be able to brag about starting new people at those positions. You've got no choice and you don't rid yourself of kickers (I know soft spot with you Joe) and then brag about starting your new kickers and therefore you're bold. It's hardly like positions like tackles or guards of which you have boatloads on the team.
