I pretty much see it as he does.

QB Ditto Keeping 2 right now

RB Miller (yes) Williams (yes) Ayabi (knee concerns me see Delmas)
Gilleslee (I like him, hope he learns from that fumble, just dumb). James Im convinced he is a practice player not a gamer.

WR Would keep Byrd over Hazel. I like Hazel but from what I read/hear the other 2 (preston&Byrd) look better. But read somewhere that Hazel was looking better as of late.

OL - Ditto good to see Thomas is deveoping. I always liked the guy just thought he needed stability. Keep giving him those reps at G.

TE - Ditto watching Sims

Dline Ditto

MLB - Watching Shep closely hope he takes that spot. Yeah he will have to come out on 3rd down that's known.

OLB - Can Tripp or Paysinger play effectively as a starter if we lose a starter? Not sure if that questions been answered yet.

CB - Ditto

S - did not count much on Delmas. I am hoping that Aikens brings it. I always liked him, I like safeties that played some corner at the college level.

Thanks JC. Not much changed in Game #2 except for the following:
1) Aikens and Thomas are now locked in a battle for a STARTING safety job now that Delmas was lost for the season.
2) Gerell Robinson bulled his way back into the competition for the #3 TE job with his 56 yard catch and run for a TD.

I would add....

guard position is still unsettled after a poor showing. Especially by Turner.

Parker is not on the PUP, Preston is gone.

Don Jones is not on the PUP

I believe that due to NFL rules regarding PUP, they cannot go back on the PUP to start regular season. The will both likely be on 53 man roster. Don Jones a ST stud.

I have been hearing a lot of discussion regarding the kicker battle in SD. I would keep a close eye on this if I were the GM. Sounds like a very good kicker will be cut soon. Likely Josh Lambo from TA&M.

I think Cedric Thompson is the choice over Kovacs in the secondary.

Thanks Joe. I like Thompson but I'm concerned about his ability to tackle in the open field. This is the second week in a row he had a chance to make an endzone saving play and couldn't come up with the stop.

re Kicking battle: didn't Sturgis make a 50 yarder.

re RG position: was Gillislee as unimpressive as his stats showed?

He made a 49 yarder and that makes 2 for 2 this PS. He won't screw it up until regular season...or until he gets hurt.

I would do 22-23 on offense and 27-28 on defense:

QB: RT, and pick up Blake Sims from Canada as a rookie to groom. If RT goes down season is over as far as run at playoffs. (2)

RB: Miller and Williams are 1 and 2. LeMike is a PR ace and a backup RB. Gillesle is the 4th string in case Miller or Williams go down. I'd cut Ajayi, he has shown nothing. Team can pick up a RB like him and better any time. Practice squad potential. (4)

TE: Dion Sims would be my #1 for two reasons. One, he is ready, and two he wants it and it is not good to have discontent on the team. I would keep Robinson and Stoneburner. I don't know what to do with Cameron, I'd cut him. This dude is clueless and makes a ton.(3)

WR: Landry, Matthews, Stills, Jennings, Hazel. (5). Parker on PUP until week 5.

Oline: Fox. Thomas, Pouncey, Turner, James, Lichtenfck, Brenner, Douglas. Albert on PUP til week 5. (8)

That's 22 for Offense.

DL: Wake, Suh, Mitchell, Vernon, Shelby, Phillips, Johnson, Fede, CJ Mosley. (9)

LB: Misi, Jenkins, Sheppard, McCain, Vigil, Tripp, Paysinger, Hull (8)

S: Jones, Thomas, Aikens, Kovacs (4)

CB: Grimes, Taylor, McCain, McCain, Bowman, Lippett, Davis (7)

That's 28 on defense.

AS with most teams that lose their starting QB. No way a CFL player is better than Matt Moore. Sims was rejected by 32 NFL teams as well as cut by Toronto. I wouldn't read too much into a PS performance. Moore is good off the bench. Always has been.

What has Gillislie done exactly? I do not see them cutting a 5th round pick in his rookie year over a guy who has done nothing in 3 years....6 carries.

Seriously? Wow. The guy is a Pro Bowl TE. You are reading way too much into a few preseason snaps. He has a history of success in the regular season. That should hold more weight than practice or PS. He's a gamer just like Jelaney Jenkins who always disappears in practice and PS. We run enough 2 TE sets to give Sims plenty of snaps.

>

Parker cannot go on PUP according to NFL rules. He must be on the final 53 unless he goes to IR for the year.

Not so sure about Brenner. If you want to judge a guy based on PS performance, this is the type of guy to judge because he has done nothing in the regular season. He was awful vs Carolina and has been demoted in favor of McClendon who has looked good at center and guard.

> DL: Wake, Suh, Mitchell, Vernon, Shelby, Phillips,
> Johnson, Fede, CJ Mosley. (9)

Johnson was run over for the last two weeks. He's been outplayed by AJ Francis. I would swap those two.

> LB: Misi, Jenkins, Sheppard, McCain, Vigil, Tripp,

Way too many IMO. Hull to practice squad. Keep Vigil active for ST and development. Paysinger I'm not sure about. I would be monitoring the waiver wire on Sept. 1st for better LB's.

> S: Jones, Thomas, Aikens, Kovacs (4)

They likely keep Don Jones. He is a monster gunner and our ST's were awful last year when he was cut. That's why he's here.

> CB: Grimes, Taylor, McCain, McCain, Bowman,

Waiver wire for OL & LB

My 2 main concerns on this team.

If we can fix these 2 spots we will be real good.

There are a few teams with excellent line around the league. Some likely have backups who are better than our current projected starters. We need to get one.

At this point, I am as worried about LT as I am guard. I would look for a guy who can play left tackle AND guard.

Based on performance (and injury/rehab) thus far our starters for game one should be....

LT Fox
LG Thomas
C Pouncey
RG McClendon
RT James

Fox will likely get hurt by the second game leaving Linkenbach at LT.

It would be great to find an upgrade at LT who can slide to LG or RG if needed once Albert gets back.

I would not be surprised to see Albert away until week 4 or 5.

If McClendon is looking like a starter the team should give Turner some reps at his natural position, tackle.

Tanne looks sharp so far no need to need lessly put him in harms way. Moore appears to need the work start him the next preseason game.

This weeks line will be....

LT Linkenbach
LG Thomas
C Pouncey
RG Turner/Douglas
RT James

I don't understand why they don't give McClendon more snaps at RG. he has performed well every chance he gets. I know they need to get a look at the young guys but time is running out.

Is Fox out for the next game? I dont feel great about Linkenbach protecting Tannehills blind side in a preseason game...

Fox has to go through concussion protocol. I don't see a drop off (if any) from Fox to Linkenbach. Take it for what you will but Linkenbach graded out at +1.2 last week for pass pro in 37 snaps (+2.0 over 2 games). Fox graded at -1.9 in pass pro in 27 snaps. Link appears to a better pass protector while Fox is a hair better run blocker.

I'm sure RT will play a full quarter. Philbin is not benching him to please the media.

or maybe we don't have to worry too much....

@chrisperk

Braden Albert going thru full practice today 4 1st time. He'll do everything.

@ArmandoSalguero

Branden Albert says he'll be going full speed in practice today.

Koa Misi back at practice too.

I dont want to see him in pre season either...The LT.

Give Albert 10 minutes 1 on 1 w/ Suh and that should make up for all the time he has missed and at the same time have him ready for the 1st game.

Hell put them in a steel cage and I'll pay pay per view for that!

Jay Ajayi and Bobby McCain back at practice as well.

Probably see all (Misi) of these guys in game 3.

Parker is running routes lightly but also running straight full out.

It would be so nice to get all these guys healthy for the start of the season.

Our offense has looked good and in sync in the limited drives. Get Parker and Albert back and this offense probably gets to the next level. Can't wait to see Tannehill throwing to that huge catch radius.

19 days until the first regular season game!...almost 3 weeks to get them healthy. Looks promising.

Joe i can sense your excitement.....The others as well...

you know me......sunday from 7 am to about 11:30 AM gamble a bit in the hialeah casino.....Then head home take a bath shave and watch the game on the 40 inch HD.

I have a small fridge in the room.....i full it up of beer.....

Its on.

No soap spanish soap operas for my wife. So no fights......I get the room all to myself.

Sometimes i watch in the living room with some friends do some barbecue in the backyard...

But i rather watch it alone in the room....Since i dont take it lightly when they lose.

All i owe in my credit cards is about 9 grand....Almost done....Used to be in the 40 range...>So almost done...I got nine more moths plus interest sending 1 grand a month..>>And im done...

then i will start going to the games at the stadium again since i live about a mile away.

Life its good.

The NFL season is here.

THe marlins have their own stadium but they no good and boring....Unless fernandez pitches i dont watch.

GO PHINS.

........right
So anyway, no way in hell Philbin should or will sit Tannehill in this game, RT17 still has stuff to work on plus it would send a really bad message to the O-line that is lining up. Unless he's getting killed he'll play for at least a quarter if not more.
