But here's the thing in which maybe you out to check yourself instead of me.
At the end of the season, everyone was PISSED AT PHILBIN and even his supporters in the HEAD OFFICE BASICALLY SAID, he's on thin ice and he has only this year NOT TO F*CK UP.
But when I hear the music you play Joe,....it's not like you are still saying (like the rest of us including the head office) telling Joe that he is on Thin Ice.
Instead the music you are playing seems to be "Let him start with a clean slate for next year and let us evaluate him from there."
That's not how we closed the season,....... We closed the season by telling Joe "One more f*ck up and you're OUT!"
You're missing the point, Joe. Regardless of what you say or the "other" problems, regardless even of the existence of those problems, Philbin, as a single entity, like everyone said at the end of the last season, should be considered on severe probation and you are treating him as a new hire with a blank clean slate. That's the point.
Not exactly. Not even close to a blank slate. It is what it is. I think I view him just as ownership views him. He is on a one year prove it deal BUT he is here so I will roll with it. What choice do I have? I'm not going to sit here and complain about last year when this year is a totally different team. I also never agreed that the timeout calls were as big of a deal as you did.
I still think he can coach the team to the playoffs. Benefit of the doubt because I think we had a lack of talent for the last three years (or 15). This year I don't think that's the case. I think we have more talent overall than I've seen for a long, long time.
I've also stated that I see a difference in him but you don't want to acknowledge that he is capable of getting better. I believe he is and I am rooting for him.

Chryen, you are correct...one of our DBs did knock the receiver out of bounds, which saved the TD on that play, however, what I believe everyone is talking about is Finnegan's poor angle on the receiver. If he had played him to where if the ball was caught he could have tackled him in bounds to keep the clock running; problem was Finnegan was inside the receiver. Our DB was able to save the TD.
My memory could be failing me, but I believe it was on that play that everything happened.
