I can't say enough about this guy. Fierce competitor with the best attitude. He never takes anything for granted and has a great work ethic.

He's probably the most underpaid pass rusher in NFL history.
He only made 650k per year for his first three years in the league and then signed an extension to stay here in 2012.

2012: 2mil
2013: 5 mil
2014: 7 mil
2015: 10.4 mil
2016: 9.8 mil

...and he will probably get cut at age 34 before making his next years salary.

You have complete morons out there like Greg Hardy who made 13 mil last year for not even playing. Wake is the 21st highest paid DE in the NFL based on average salary but he has been a top 3 DE for the past 3 or 4 years. That does not include 3-4 pass rushers.

He has an incentive clause in his contract that will pay him....

11 Sacks: $750,000
13 Sacks: $1 million
15 Sacks: $3 million
League Sack Leader: $5 million

I hope he can collect on the 5 mil before he gets released or at least the 3 mil. He deserves it and I will be rooting for him to make it.

Olivier Vernon: 1.7 mil (2014 = 760k)
D.Shelby: 2.4 mil
Dion Jordan: 4.47 mil (2014), $6,112,377 in 2016 with $2,992,064 in dead space if released. Possibly more depending on how they work the cap with his suspension this year. He does not accrue a full season towards FA.

They (OV and DS) are both FA's in 2016.

This team has a huge decision to make at DE next year. Especially if they don't plan on paying Wake and Vernon has a 10+ sack season.

Did I mention we are not in great shape on the cap next year?
