Good as far as it goes.

IMO, a couple of picks (Gurley and Hundley) were snatched right in the same rounds before I figured we would grab them.

Hundley...LOL

Not even on the board.

I am shocked we only took one 4th round 0-lineman that I have never heard of...good draft overall!

May need to work a trade for Evan Mathis or sign Justin Blalock.

thumbs upthumbs up

I like this draft.

Extremely happy with PARKER.

Hoping that Philips gets his motor going and that will allow MISI to captain the middle with success.

Have nice competition in the defensive backfield.

And may have found a nice L Guard for years to come.

Jay Ajayi... unexpected addition. TD machine.

This draft helps balance the team, adds play makers, and should also improve our special teams play.

I'm with you Jim. I think its a solid B+ draft at a minimum.

It really boils down to Phillips. If he's a stud then this draft is an A+++.

Add in Kenny stills as the 3rd round pick and it looks even better.

I thought he went in the 2nd? smiling bouncing smiley

I wouldn't have minded if we took him, he has some upside. But I agree, QB wasn't on our draft board at all this year.

There will be opportunities to get a similar or better project next year or the year after. We had other needs to address this year to make a playoff push.

Me too. The kid looks good, but I figured one of those 5ths would be on another Olineman.

Could be. Maybe we get lucky and a guy shakes loose as a post draft cut? I think we'll likely be signing another FA or two for the oline after this draft.

Not sure, I expect Matthews to be moved hazel possibly released although with that being said Richard Sherman was a WR and selected in the 5th.......

This draft was all about Ryan Tannehill, the future that you hate. Jay Ajayi, DeVante Parker, Jamil Douglas. We have way to many NEEDS to worry about a backup Qb after we just re-signed Moore to a big contract. It's about building around RT, not wasting picks on a developmental prospect who would never see the field. Just because you named him as the primo talent several months back, doesn't make him desirable.

Matt Moore is 2.6 mil insurance policy...that I am comfortable with...

We also have Josh Freeman.

The staff said they took Lippett as a CB.

Matthews could get moved. I though he might get dealt for a late pick in this draft but there really isn't a cheaper option with more upside we could replace him with.

Hazel isn't going anywhere. The staff like him a lot. He could end up back on the practice squad again but he's not likely to get cut.

Hundley = Freeman.

Same type of player, except Freeman has produced at this level and Hundley has not.

Best thing that could have happened to Hundley was to go to a team like Green Bay. He won't have to play, and he'll get coached up for 4 years. Then he'll be a free agent and get paid like Matt Flynn did.

I would give this draft a C.

One of the weakest positions on the team was addressed with ONE pick...offensive line. IMO, the first rounder should have been the OL, with WR in the second. I'm sure that's why Miami didn't really get more than one OL as the pickings were slim once they got back in the game in the fourth round.

Two players with knee injuries were picked, Ajayi and McCain. Ajayi's knee is bone on bone. Doctors say he could play four games or four years; difficult to say. Granted, if he stays healthy, a very good pick.

Lippett played mostly WR his senior season, but is projected as a CB in Miami. Well, that was a wasted pick as he won't see the field for quite a while as he has to relearn the position, along with this is now the NFL where everything is faster.

Parker a good choice; Phillips a pick that wasn't really necessary, although, if he plays up to his capabilities, he could turn out to be a good pick.

Just have to wait and see, I guess.

Garbage 5th rd, made no improvement, wasted picks on acorns, zer impact, Hickey continues to fail in late rounds, he is incompetent.

Every one of our picks has a high upside...Hickey did a good job.

The issue is that we didn't get any for sure day one starters. We got some guys that could be major contributors in year two but as of right now we just don't know.

The guys most likely to see major playing time this year are Parker and Ajayi and there is no guarantee that either one of them are starters on day one. Everyone else needs to develop just a bit. JMO.

Not having a 3rd really hurt us in this draft as far as LB goes.

Overall I'd give us a B based on the upside of our picks alone.

Seems like we are signing just about every undrafted FA LB on the market.

Zach Virgil

Overall I found it to be a very pedestrian effort, opportunistic at times, but certainly addressing areas of need as well. I'd given them a solid B.

I am deeply concerned about the WCB spot opposite Grimes as the Dolphins seem satisfied in throwing numbers at the problem and hoping someone emerges. They'd better be right or we could be pulling hair for 5 months.

One big need they absolutely fixed was the run defense. We won't see a repeat of last season's breakdown. And it could be that the defensive line makes life easier for the DBs, which could reduce the concern re WCB. For me, the most intriguing pick was Phillips. He could end up being the best player...or the biggest bust...in the lot.

We don't even know what we got last year because of injuries, let alone what we got this year. Two of the players from mid rounds last year have a legit chance to start this season, now that they are healthy. Hickey also signed some good players as UFA's. One who will likely start and another who will compete for a starting spot. Finding 3 starters in a rookie class is a good year. 4-5 starters from one rookie class is a % I will take all day long.

Our 7th round pick won a game with a blocked punt/safety last year.

Calling Hickey incompetent is ridiculous & premature. Has he proven himself as a quality GM? No. Not yet but you can't grade a draft for 3 years. If you're doing it after 3 days.... eye rolling smiley

Agree determining draft success takes at least 3 years. Looks like a decent draft, Parker is the key.

Phillips hopefully he can stay healthy and become a stopper next to Suh which will make the secondary better

Hopefully Douglas can fill a hole on the OL

Ajayi worth a shot in the 5th

Zach Vigil and Mike Hull could be solid backups and special teams player.

Lippet could be a 2 way sleeper

Re: Dolphins 2015 Draft Class

To me our biggest need coming into the draft, and the past 3-4 seasons, has been the truly offensive, offensive line. Receiver was a need after getting rid of most of the starting group and I agree with the logic or surrounding Tannehill with receivers that better fit him, not the other way around. But I believe we narrowly missed the playoff's the last two seasons due to that Oline and the defensive front. That defense was given a HUGE lift in free agency with the addition of N Suh. he will make everyone better.

We got a few CB's, a RB and another big body on the Defensive front , all good. But the only O line addition was J Douglass. I really feel we should have addressed the Oline in the second round and fith rounds.

the Dolphins seem to really be concentrating on that defense. I'm guessing they felt the defensive meltdowns were player talent and not coaching or gameplan.

I would have liked to have seen more attention to our biggest problem. the Oline. Especially in league where the Jets picked the #1 defensive player in the draft and the Bills will be a defensive force to be reckoned with .

For that reason I give the Dolphins a solid "C". Our players could all pan out , Jay Ajayi could be a bigger steal then Laundry was last season, but who will even know without a Oline to block? Billy Milner and a rookie in the 4th round? really? That's our plan at that position? We better pray and hope La'el Collins is cleared and wants a shot here. We are worse off now then last year at this position. Our players are coming back from injury and not a lot of new talent. Its a position that's put together with spit and glue every season and needs some healthy new blood. Lenard Williams is gonna crush Tannihill.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Hutson Mason, who threw 21 TDs and 4 picks as Georgia Bulldogs QB in '14, will be quarterbacking at Fins minicamp this week on tryout basis.
