We need to draft RB with 1st or 2nd rd pick...

last year we paid the price for not being able to close out games. MIller is not that type of back. It's why I was shaking my head when we passed on Carlos Hyde.
Of course I'd take Gurley or Gordon, but even Abdullah in 2nd. A good RB will make whole offense better. Just my take, but that's our biggest need besides a guard...RB is a bigger need than WR at this point!

I'm told the #Dolphins believe there are 19 first round picks they like. They are scheduled to pick No. 14.

I agree with taking a RB in this year's draft, but not in the first two rounds. If Miami gets a third rounder back, that's where to (maybe) grab a RB.
RB is not a NEED this year. OL has to be shored up, WR has to be addressed (even with the Jennings signing), DB has to be upgraded (Grimes and who else is there?), and at least one LB.
Cap, I too believe in drafting the best player available at a position of need.
I just think that RB is a position of need. Not greater or maybe as great a need as others but to me if you can get with your FIRST PICK the
No. 1 player at the THIRD POSITION OF NEED..... I'd do that INSTEAD OF taking the second or third best player at the first position of need.
I believe that you should work, during the course of years, to put together an all star cast. The opposing philosophy is that by trading back and accepting those of lesser talent and getting more picks to be able to do more with your overall team, then that is the way to go. Like I said before, it takes a genius to do that. I don't think we have any.

That makes me wonder....Does that mean there are 19 players they like for pick 14 or in the first round? If it's at pick 14, who are those 19 players?
Obviously about 12 of those will be gone and they are not looking at QB's so take Mariota and Winston off the list.
1 Leonard Williams
2 Amari Cooper
3 Davante Parker
4 Kevin white
5 Vic Beasly
6 Dante Fowler
7 Bud Dupree
8 Brandon Sherff
9 La'el Collins
10 Todd Gurley
11 Melvin Gordan
12 Shane Ray
13 Dan Shelton
14 ????
and you can probably eliminate several of those edge rushers since we have greater needs....not sure who else fits before you trade down.
Everyone makes it sound so easy "trade down with <insert random team here>", but if it was that easy I would think every team would trade a few spots back for extra picks. Also, if there's a player that's coveted, isn't that someone we should consider as well?
Then you look at last year, we took a lesser valued player at #19 who probably would of been there later in the 1st or possibly early 2nd, then 3 picks later Cleveland jumps up in a trade with the Eagles to grab Manzeil, did Miami's phone not ring on that? Was a trade available for us but Hickey wanted to much? or did he really just think Juwaun wouldn't be there at #26 where Cleveland jumped up from? Maybe trades are available every year, but you just have to lessen the value a bit to get them? Which by the way, we can thank the Raiders ineptitude for us being saddled with Dion Jordan now right, if they would of demanded the proper trade value for the #3 overall pick, we probably wouldn't of made the jump (at least I hope not anyway).
Berkley223 Joe FootBall is correct the trade downs go by the point schedule and I read Dallas would need to give us their 2nd and third so if they really want Gurley it could happen I think Devin Smith will be as good as Parker and Perriman. We could get him, a RB like Yeldon or Ajayi and an OG
