don't be shocked if the PATRIOTS go after Harvin now.
Belichieck is very close friends with both Florida coaches Urban Myer and Billy Donavon. He is tight with a lot of people at Florida. Belichick might roll the dice on a guy like Harvin and try and "steal" a Top 10 talent late in Rd 1. Having Urban on his side Belichick might be able to sit the kid down and get through to him like no one of the other 31 coaches could.
Imagine a healthy Brady throwing to Moss, Welker, and Harvin. Jesus Christ they would break their own NFL Scoring record
I dont understand why people make such a big deal about this. How many sports announcers, media figures and cats calling the shots did their fair share of alcohol and drugs in college. Infact I think that a marijuana test is unfair in that it 1)stays in your system for a month and 2) i think they can now use hair samples where they can trace it back 2-3 months, what other drug can you trace that far back? How many people on this sight did drugs or puffed down a few trees? How about your at a club stop with your homies and you happen to be around some second had smoke, who long will that stay in your system?
Here is what I see, i see a guy that played a hell of a lot of rb in college and is still an outstanding receiver with the strength to get off the line and the speed to take it the distance. He stays in top shape and lost 10 pounds or so to run a fast 40. And he gave florida all he had on the field to win his team a championship and I think he had a badly sprained ankle or something to that effect. He is a winner, people may fault his judgment but at his age what do you expect, who is innocent of doing drugs at his age. The hypocracy kills me. If I were a GM/HC interested in him it would not phase me at all...

can you say the raiders and DALLAS!!!! i bet dallas takes him in second round or the bears IF he is around. i wouldnt make him top 20 do to the fact he will prob be suspended 2 or 3 games, so thats the drop in rankings that accounts for it, who wants to spend premium dollar on a suspension? hell he might drop to us at 44, instead of nicks.

I agree in theory Reppa. The thing that would keep me from taking him is just plain stupidity. How smart are you if you smoke dope right before you know you are going to be tested and that it may cost you MILLIONS of dollars? What is to stop you from doing it again when you are an employee of the NFL and have to sit out 4 games or a season like Ricky Williams?
I guess I misunderstood your intent. Sorry for freaking out!
It just seemed as though there has been a lot of censorship, power trips and hand slapping on here lately and I guess it wore on me. Maybe I'm just more stressed than usual.

Not a problem at all, I should have been more clear myself.

Let me rephrase it a bit... You only fail a crack/cocaine test if you did it 2-4 days prior to a test, where as marajuania can be detected in your body for far back as 45-90 days or 1.5 to 3 months prior (depending on how long used). So that means that harvin could have hit a blunt way back in christmas and say me another athlete could have been high on crack/cocaine and as long as I dont use it for 3-4 days prior to the combine (Feb) I can come up clean where harvin would fail. My basic point is I dont think that harvin got high and said hey what time is it? O Sh!t im late to the combine let me roll out. The test that they use can detect traces of marajuana from weeks to months back. So dont think that harvin is so dumb to smoke weed a few days before the combine, if it happened I would be willing to bet it was better that 3 weeks prior...
It is unfortunate that there are much worst drugs to be on than marijuana but this is the only one that they chose to advance, the others are much easier to beat (with the exception of steroids)- which they can detect from 3 weeks to as long ago as 18 months... damn!
Point, other athletes at the combine are on other drugs it is just that steroids and marijuana will catch you the others are relatively primitive and as long as you stop 3-4 days prior to the test you will pass.
REPP-ology::: Therefore it is not a matter of being dumb it is a matter of using the wrong drug.

yeah and Marijuana is not a performance enhancing drug so the NFL should just mind their own business anyway.
The other thing is mj may be able to be detected for up to 90 days back but only if you use it frequently enough so that it stays in your system. If you smoke a doobie once and get a drug test 2 weeks later, chances are it is not going to show up unless they do a hair strand test and maybe not even then....from what I hear anyway.
the point is not that they smoked pot--I agree I could give 2 sh$ts whether someone does (and it would be highly hypocritical of me to do so, if you know what I mean). The point is that he smoked before--even if 90 days before or however long it takes to get out of your system--the BIGGEST job interview of his life. These guys have been planning to go to the NFL their entire lives. By failing it shows (1) they are completely retarded or (2) they just don't care. Either way I don't want to blow a high pick on them. However I would take Harvin in the 3d round on the chance he can be taught to grow up. No "higher" though.
Harvin is an idiot and can't be trusted. Who needs the headache of a young adult who can't stay away from the weed. Especially right before a HUGE job interview which will result in him making millions.
no i hate Ricky. I want him gone. But I have come to the conclusion he must have pictures on somebody cause about 5 coaches now (Wanny, Bates, Saban, Cam, Sprano) refuse to release him or let him go.
And I know him and his mother Sandy personally. She used to write for my website. Good lady. He is a decent guy. But Im not a big fan of him and his past actions
