Patriots gave up a 3rd rounder to move from 27 to 21 to take Chandler Jones. That's 6spots. I'd say the 14th pick is worth a bit more to trade down 5.
Dallas traded the 14th and 45th to STL for the 6th to get Morris Claiborne.
Browns traded #4, 118, 139 & 211 to move up ONE SPOT (to #3) to take Trent Richardson.
Washington traded 3 first round picks and a 2nd to move up 4 spots to get RG3.
and I'm sure you remember Mike Ditka and Ricky Williams...
It happens when teams fall in love with a player. It doesn't always go by the draft value chart.
In my ever so humble, slightly educated opinion, Miami won't be moving up or down. When I look at how many holes we have on the roster, and how thin our roster is on talent, trading away picks seems very counterintuative. I also look at the board and how it's laid out in the first round and don't see many scenarios that play into Miami's favor for a trade down. Miami would have to be offered something really sweet for the FO to give up #14, especially with the two wise men we have running things now.

Yes. Maybe I wasn't specific enough in my comparisons. Perriman is a physical player, who uses his body effectively against smaller corners and safeties. He also has a very good talent for catching the ball at its highest available point, something Miami recievers have never seemed to be able to do. This can lead to a very consistant redzone production out of Perriman. We all know how bad RT needs a redzone target.
Basically to reword my post, Perriman reminds me of Bouldin's receiving style, just faster.

Besides, with Miami not having a 3rd this year, to trade up would (probably) mean Miami would have to pretty much trade away all their picks, and maybe one or two next year.
Can't happen; too many holes to fill.
One player is not going to make a difference (on this Miami team).
