Look for Suh deal to be massive. I keep hearing$17M/year and $60M-plus guaranteed. If he doesn't land in Miami won't be for lack of effort
<<<gulp>>>.......I'm starting to feel quessy, that is a lot of coin

LOL chren but a house was worth 25 grand...back then. A car maybe 2 grand. Brand new.
You know. I thought about prices and inflation myself when I posted. But a gallon of gas was about 15 cents at that time in 1961 (may have even been less because I was an elementary school kid and when I was a teenager and started paying attention to those type of things it was .15 cents).
Now it's what about $4.00 a gallon (and that's out here in California), about 27 times more. So multiply $100,000 by 27 equals $2,700,000 a year salary.
That's not the top salary in all of professional sports today as was Mickey Mantle's salary was the top in all sports in 1961.
Wow. I concentrated on the house and just now saw you thinking a car was $2,000. In 1961, it was more like between $500 and a $1000 for the average car. And the average house was about $6000 grand.
But using your SALARY figures, Mantle would only make $1.9 million today. So considering your SALARY figures, I actually overstated what Mantle's salary would translate into today.

Suh has real opportunity for game-changing contract. Pre-qualify bidders by requiring fully guaranteed contract. Has leverage to do it.
^Anybody have an appetite for this^? ........Let's not get stupid boys

Hell no.
Anybody who gives him a fully guaranteed contract for 6 years $115-120m is clinically insane.
I wouldn't even give that contract to JJ watt.
Now if its a 3 year deal, thats a different story. Just better hope he doesn't get hurt.
samsam, then it ain't happening
anyone else think this is a ploy to get more $$ from DET or some other team? no news is leaked at this time without an agenda. everyone knows ross can be played like a fiddle to get more money elsewher

You are right Berk. We'd be much better off if Ross just put his money back in the vault and didn't get involved with pursuing any FA talent.
You do realize that when we get involved in bidding on a player and drive up the cost its a GOOD thing when another team beats us with an even more absurd offer...right? We don't get stuck with a ridiculous contract and someone else does, making it harder for them to sign other players.

Right! Albert Einstein said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and getting the same result but expecting a different result by repeating it.
Well in fairness the fins have given out huge fa contracts before but never to someone young uninjured and the best at his position. I'll take the suh deal over Wallace any day of the week
