DGB did not test well, he ran a sub-par forty, his explosion tests were absolute trash (vertical & Broad Jump), he hasn't played football in over a year, and his character issues are horrendous. He is known to have a terrible work ethic, and never learned the Mizzou playbook while he was there. I watched every snap he ever took at Mizzou, & while he has all the potential in the world, his film is also sub-par.
I'm not saying 4.49 is not a good time. But to me, its not eye-popping time. Calvin Johnson's 4.35 at his combine (at nearly the same size) was eye popping. lol.
But, DGB's broad jump and vertical raise SERIOUS red flags about his explosion. I mean, those are horrendous numbers for someone whose "potential" is based almost solely off of their athleticism.

I don't know about "serious" red flags physically. His numbers were better than Kelvin Benjamin from last year. Especially on the 40. pretty similar across the board otherwise....physically speaking only.
Something is amiss though. Those numbers do not match up with the 40 time for DGB. He should have run in the 4.61 range. He just needs to gain some NFL type strength training.

Walter football mock, now has us taking him instead of Parker... I watched some highlights and he looked pretty good at run support as well as coverage... I am not against the pick if he is a true stud CB. I just hope he isn't another speedster cb 1st rd flop like Dee Milner has been thus far for the Jets...

All things are subject to interpretation whichever interpretation prevails at a given time is a function of power and not truth.
Nietzsche
His former teammate Darqueze Dennard, taken at 24, did not even see the field in Cincy last year. Waynes is supposed to be better but he had better be much better.
Speaking of crush lists....add Vic Beasley to mine. My only reservation before was about his size but he looks like a monster at 6'3 246 and ran a 4.53. The production is certainly there. He could redeem a historically bad DE group from Clemson.
I know we don't have as big of a need at DE as some of the other spots but we do have a need. Wake is not getting any younger and Vernon has disappeared too much. Jordan is Jordan so....
If we go BPA and he is there, it would be hard to pass him up. I think he is a top 10 pick and could be the first pass rusher taken.
I think Randy Gregory may drop as will Shane Ray. Gregory is lighter and not as fast as expected and Ray (injured foot) has been ripped for inability to play in a 3-4. May be strictly a 4-3 DE.
So if we truly go BPA, Beasley and Trae Waynes are high on my list.
My top 10 (unrealistic) wishlist for Miami
1. Leonard Williams
2 Vic Beasley
3 Kevin White
4 Amari Cooper
5 Dante Fowler
6 Bud Dupree
7 Trae Waynes
8 Brandon Scherff
9 Melvin Gordan
10 Dan Shelton
