I was just looking into Iupati. He seems to be a dominant run blocker but can't pass protect to save his life. I also think he plays in a power blocking scheme in SF. He gave up 7 sacks last year!
I'll take Orlando Franklin all day. He runs a zone scheme and pass protects as well as he run blocks. He gave up 1 sack this year as a LG and only 2 last year as a RT.
Iupati is also not going to play tackle if needed.
In Franklin we get a stud guard as well as an insurance policy at tackle.
If I'm Hickey, this guy is one of my top recruits. Imagine this team with these moves....

I'm with you Joe. Franklin should be our free agent priority.
Then find some value at cb and dt and we are teed up nicely for the draft.

Although both brothers are friends with Hernandez, he was or is tighter with Mike... Mike and Hernandez were actual roommates at UF...

That is true, but Mike and Aaron have been tight ever since and still are to this day.. Mike was subpoenaed in a case relating to Hernandez and jail house phone calls between the two were part of the most recent murder trial... I personally dont think any judging Pouncey should come from his friendship with Hernandez, other then that he is a loyal friend...
I have friends society would call "bad dudes" that I grew up with and if they called me or needed me I would be there for them.. Not in an illegal way but as an old school friend...

I agree with this to a certain extent, I thought it was in bad taste to wear the "Free Hernandez" hats at their birthday celebration right after he was arrested for murder, not so much if you or I wore them because we're not public figures, but then again you and I don't show up on TMZ or ESPN wearing them for that very same reason.
And then didn't they (or maybe just Maurkice?) beat up some bouncer or something just about a year ago (also at their birthday bash)? Maybe they should try Chuckie Cheese or somewhere else for the next bash, LOL.
Neither one of those incidents would stop me from signing him long term, but I do think it shows a lack of judgement on Mikes part.
No charges filed but it sounded like Maurkice was more involvved...
Jeff Ostrow, the attorney for the Pouncey brothers, told USA TODAY Sports via e-mail, "As expected, the Miami-Dade Office of the State Attorney has determined that the Pouncey brothers should not be charged in connection with an altercation that occurred at the Cameo Nightclub on July l2, 2014. This further confirms that the previous claim that the brothers were involved was false and fabricated by individuals seeking notoriety and monetary gain.''

Mike Pouncey says he's never been in any trouble but "little stupid things" bother him he didn't do better.
He must read this board........

Pouncey regrets "stuff I should have done a lot better. ... There's a right and wrong way to do stuff."
