Yep it's on the news wire all right. This is a good opportunity to point out the link a lot of you might not be aware of, and it's a great feature of phins.com --
On the left vertical bar, second link under "Team News" is the News Wire link, a fantastic aggregator of articles, blog posts, etc. I myself don't remember to check it often enough. There's a lot of interesting stuff there, such as an article on the possibility of Chip Kelly becoming the Dolphins' coach....in 2016 (!)
My point is whether the loss of the guy who has done our scouting is a BAD thing. but I guess with Damien and Jarvis, it's not TOO bad of a job he has done.
I hope you hold other posters to the same standard colonel, you check Joe on a news story that's all over twitter and the news feeds, yet you let other posters fabricate stuff all day long?
Don't get excited guys. It was late and I going to bed when I saw Joe's post. I never doubted his information just looking for a source so I could check it out the next day and read more about it.

I had a similar initial thought but he's made it through 5 front office regimes starting with Wanny then Saban, CamMueller, Parcels, etc.
Not a great track record BUT...
It's hard to gauge externally because he has never had final say and we don't know who he has endorsed with GM's making the final calls.
I would LOVE to see his reports and how he regarded players like Pat White, Matt Ryan, Jared Odrick, etc.
It's often these reports that save you when the new GM comes in decides who to retain.
For instance: In 2010, we traded from 12 to 28 to land Odrick, passing on players like Earl Thomas, Jason Pierre-Paul, Mike Iupati, Maurkice Pouncey, Demaryius Thomas, Dan Williams, Dez Bryant and Devin McCourty. All of whom are better players. That's a lot of talent to pass over! 8 PRO BOWL type players!!!! Good job JEFF!
With our luck, he will move on and become the next Ozzie Newsome. i believe we interviewed him for GM spot last year.
