How far will he drop?

Just saw an interview with him. Seems very immature, entitled. The soonest I would take him (if I was a GM) would be 2nd round IF I was desperate for a QB. I would have a very good backup plan beforehand.

With all the new personal conduct policy rules/issues in the NFL, I would have to think long and hard.

Saw the video tape of him shoplifting, he just walked out like he owned the place. Dressed out for the game even though coach told him not too, argument on sideline, sexual assault...Unreal.

Drafting him in the 1st round sends a completely wrong message for the organization so set on cleaning up its image. (Celebrities crying over domestic violence commercials)....

Tennessee needs one but I wouldn't do it at 2. I would go for someone else in round 2 and take someone else.

1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
2. Tennessee Titans
3. Jacksonville Jaguars
4. Oakland Raiders
5. Washington Redskins
6. New York Jets
7. Chicago Bears
8. Atlanta Falcons
9. New York Giants
10. St. Louis Rams
11. Minnesota Vikings
12. Cleveland Browns
13. New Orleans Saints
14. Miami Dolphins
15. San Francisco 49ers
16. Houston Texans
17. Kansas City Chiefs
18. San Diego Chargers
19. Cleveland
20. Philadelphia Eagles

Someone will take him early. I wouldn't take him at all.

His team is killing him. 5 turnovers.

I am not a big KARMA believer but this serves the self entitled asshole what he deserves. In addition to a terrible effort by the team, he looks ordinary.

I've watched Winston most of the season and agree that he is immature. I also believe he will be picked up by some desperate NFL and groomed.

Mariota on the other hand is something special...really special.

If he fell to us in the third I'd take him as a backup to groom, but he'd have zero shot to start...soon anyway.

Can you say:

Jamarcus Russell?
Ryan Leaf?
Jeff George?
Vince Young?

Yes, I think NFL franchises have, for the most part, learned from those mistakes. Winston will be projected as a high 1st rounder and will "inexplicably" fall <gasp!>....like Johnny Football and Brady Quinn...at which point I wouldn't put it past Cleveland to see if the third time's a charm.

Hmm from your list he might be more like George a complete qb that can beat you but has some head issues. Not as bad as Leaf. More talent than Quinn and Manziel has ever shown. Say what you want about his upstairs but those comeback wins during the regular season were true blue. The kid can beat you. The OR loss was a team win for OR and a team loss by FSU. As I said before Winston needs to come back to FSU 1 more year and prove that he can go trouble free for 1 year.

I agree Mizzou. With Winston its going to be about character.

He clearly has and NFL body and skill set and I don't think anyone has ever questioned his work ethic, only his judgement.

I'd be careful and I'd hate to be looking for a QB and have to take him him in the top 5, but someone will.

Who knows? His stock might fall and fall and fall. It's happened before in the draft. In the days when Aaron Hernandez has gone to prison, many are more worried about that then anything.

ALSO, what about Ray Rice, bullygate, etc.?

What good is it to have a guy on your roster who's not on your roster? LOL.

These are the considerations of GMs. No one wants to ultimately get his walking papers, like Ireland, because of a series of bad mistakes.

Who knows how far Jameis might fall?

This Bucky Brooks kinda agrees with Truth and Mizzou that Winston is more pro ready over Mariota

Mariota should be the top pick in the draft. He's never been in trouble unlike Winston who seems to be a trouble magnet. Winston's judgment problems will likely cause his stock to fall, not his playing ability. If Winston didn't have any judgment issues, it would be a toss-up on who would be the top pick.

++++
BTW, some of you may have noticed Winston squinting during the game; he doesn't wear contacts to help his vision--that's quite puzzling to me. confused smiley

He reminds me of Russell Wilson. I think it's going to depend a lot on the system he's in and his supporting cast.

so if Mariota falls to the Dolphins do you pick him?

I was impressed with Winston trying to pick his guys up talking to his OL lifting them up.

I would have to pass on him if I were the GM in the first round. The Packers or someone could afford to take that risk.

How do you know he wasn't inviting them over for crab legs after the game?

Mariotta falls to 14? Yeah, that will happen.

RE: No I don't, if I'm making the pick. We simply don't need a QB that high and he wouldn't play anyway. Its simply too high for a backup and potential distraction. There will be other players available at #14 that will help the team much more. A DT, LB, CB, OL, TE or WR will make us a deeper and therefore better team provided as always we take the right guy. Now if by some miracle he was available when we pick in the second round...yes I'd take him there.

That's a good point. JW, if he was smart, would stay another year and NOT make any more news for behavioral issues, etc.

He could then enter the 2016 draft as the clear cut #1 OA pick.

...or he could tear his MCL and drop to the 2nd.

FSU's director of compliance Derrick Coles may have let the cat out of the bag about an hour ago. He tweeted congratulations to three FSU players (including JW) then quickly deleted his tweet. About 20 minutes later, CB PJ Williams (one of the three mentioned) declared for the Draft.

I also saw that JW's father said that JW would announce his decision after the Championship game. One could say that he's doing that in order to avoid being overshadowed by or distraction to the game, likely because he's leaving to turn pro. If he was staying, he'd just tweet it and go about his business.

Monti...you actually said that NFL franchises have learned from their mistakes. Bwaaahaaaahaaa. eye popping smiley

The only teams that will not have him on their big board are those that don't need a QB. Those teams desperate for one will grab him.
