Not that Philbin is blameless, but unfortunately it seems to take a larger than life personality to be a 'successful' head coach these days. Trying to motivate a bunch of spoiled, unionized, 20 something millionaires, half of whom are roid raging can't be easy lol...
Honestly and I have said this before, if football players were paid by the win rather than contracts that are out of control the game would be much better and more intense. You lose you dont get paid, you win you get paid...simple as that.....goes for coaches as well.
I've been pretty neutral about whether Philbin should stay or go and I still think that Miami doesn't yet have the talent to be a serious contender, but it's starting to look like the team needs to consider replacing the head coach. When players are yelling at you on the sideline, it's difficult to believe that there's a ton of respect for him as a leader. Absent winning out (which is not going to happen), I think Ross is very likely to can him and maybe that's the right call at this point.
You guys make it seem like Philbin's the only coach that ever got yelled at by a player...there is a certain coach in NE that has been screamed at on the sideline before. I guess the players don't respect him either.
There have also been others...sucessful ones I might add.

Don't get me wrong, I still think that the main reason for the team's difficulties is years of bad drafting and poor free agency decisions going back as far as Wannstedt. I like what Hickey did last year and perhaps it would be fair to give Philbin one more year with a competent GM. If, however, the team tanks the remaining games, I can't see him surviving-- fair or not. With the playoffs essentially gone, I guess we'll see from the player's effort in the next 3 weeks how much they want Philbin to remain.

Dallas Thanksgiving day this year. Whitten, Bryant, and Romo were caught yelling at coaches on the sideline.

Two of those remarks could have been general frustration about circumstances and not even directed at Philbin despite Odrick looking at him or in his direction.
As in, I can't believe this crap happens every week!
or, Get the blank out of here because something bad just happened on the field.
