I think it depends. We could still go 3-1 to close the season, miss the playoffs at 10-6 and retain Philbin. If that happens, I don't see any coaches getting fired. Coyle stays.

It's not hard to judge that we are a few pieces away from being a perennial contender.

1. Fix the o-line by getting healthy and finding that dominant guard.
2. Fix the defense by adding a better DT and a CB.

Going 10 - 6 and not making the play-offs would be OK. Going 9 - 7 would be a bit disappointing. However, if we finish the season with a whimper, like the past two seasons, then Philbin should be gone and I'd welcome Ryan with open arms.

I couldn't care less if they clean house. The only one I'd like to see us retain is Hickey.

Our roster is bad and loaded with bad contracts. It has to be overhauled anyway so let a new regime pick the pieces.

Every one of our LBs save Jenkins needs to go. Our DL is over price and average. Grimes is a keeper.

Look at our first 4 picks of 2013. Horrible. They should be getting considerable playing time and should be part of the nucleus of this team.

You can do that with the past 6 years and it isn't good.

Then you look at this year and Hickey's first 2 picks are keepers. His FA pickups have been good too.

So this notion that a new staff blows it up is a bit misleading because our roster needs to be blown up.

Actually Ryan is not too bad of a coach, esp. on the defensive side..where he is lacking is in the player selection/ keep him away from the draft! Well, ok he is allowed input on defensive players but not the offense.

Ryan for DC not sure he even wants to be a HC anymore. He is one of the best DC's in the business.
