I am a diehard like you guys...I really hope we can go to the playoffs but I don't even think 10 wins does it!
This team has the talent to be a playoff team...if we don't make it then it's squarely on Philbin or Failbum as I call him. He simply does not put this team in a position to win games. He has to be fired if we miss playoffs...Look at this list...if he does not do one of the things below than we are probably at least 7-4 and sitting pretty. In my mind we should be 8-2!
1. Gives Rodgers three time outs on game winning drive
2. Gives Stafford two time outs on game winning drive
3. Twice failed to let our 11th rated QB in the NFL try to close out games vs. Det and Green Bay
4. Up 21-10 and Manning having a 3rd and 20, the defense was clearly confused...no time out called! That play changed game
5. Against Denver, our defense was gassed partly because of thin air in Denver. Failbum had extra time in between games to get team there early to get used to it. He chose to get them there only 1-day in advance. It's even poorer judgment when you consider he knows how the heat and humidity impacts opponents in Miami.
at some point the players have to execute when put in a position to win
the offense could have closed out both the Detroit and GB games and couldn't get it done. they were in a position to win and failed.
3 plays in each of those games. line up and pound the ball. game over. they failed.
it's too easy to blame the coach. what I noticed in your list was no solution. does the new coach blow it up and find players and coaches for his system? do they promote from within and if so who?
on both of those drives tanne had 3rd and long and it was way too predictable and low percentage because if incomplete clock stops
in the Detroit game, they gained five yards on 1st down...the 2nd down run was a horrible call...that was the time to pass and ice game...given Tanne's exceptional play in the short game it shows how clueless this man is
I'd promote Lazor to head coach so Tanne keeps progressing...sooner or later we will loose Lazor at the cost of keeping Failbum
Oh I see what you did there, you blame him for calling timeouts because we lost, then you blamed him for not calling a timeout because we lost..........sweet

you call timeouts based on the game situation...when packers get sacked and are scrambling to get to line of scrimmage with about 40 secs left on 4th down and 10...u don't call a timeout to let them re group!
when your defense is unorganized against arguably the best passer in history on a crucial play to get you off the field...you call timeout
be serious...this comes down to game management and he fails!

Who fault is that then? Are you a saying that Tom Olivdotti wasn't Don Shula fault? You bet your ass it was. Dan Marino never got a ring because the Don failed him. Sorry. Sad but true.
Everyone failed in those games...period. Phlbin, Coyle, and every player on the field. If someone, anyone, steps up in crunch time we win all three games. Players make mistakes and so do coaches...show me on the doesn't and I'll show you...well I won't because that person has never lived.
Its a team game and you win or lose as a team...
No one deserves to be fired so far...not Philbin, not even Coyle who is the main culprit in our losses IMHO. He's done his job very well because we have a really good defense, but he could have in the past and should be currently doing even better. Now by the same token the players have done a good job too because it's thier work that makes us have a really good defense. Lapes however have happened and they have cost us dearly.
Everyone...coaches, general manager, offense, defense, special teams, starters, and back-ups simply has to do better. Plenty of blame to go around.

Yes, football is a team sport, however, this reminds me of that disastrous Monday night game vs the Jets some time back.
On the AOL message board, we had a poster who blasted the offense for not scoring enough. The Dolphins had a 20-30(?) point lead going into the 4th quarter. The Fins lost in overtime, and this poster put the loss on the offense.

Lol hey I'm not even upset with that remark. After all it's hard to be sexy, smart and articulate!
Treasure, it's not your fault. DolphinsRmeFav's really mad at me. Here's why.
He came to me in October and wanted to place a bet that the Patriots would win the World Series.
I told him "Yes, you can place the bet with me." I told him that I would even give him a million to one odds AGAINST the Patriots winning the World Series. But if they did, he'd get a million bucks."
However, he said, "I want better odds. Make it 10 to 1 against."
"Ho-KAY, I said."
After the World Series, he came to me and complained that I had not warned him that Larry Bird had retired.
Well Jsm08 the best course of action is to try and not respond and just report ignorant post. We have Moderators who took on the responsibility to keep this place a fun and info filled place that all Dolphin fans can vent and praise our beloved Dolphins. The fact that you would even consider ignoring the post by using the hide button just makes the behavior worse and the other posters who have to read it wel it just makes it worse for them. So stay strong try to not let the baiting to go off subject and have faith in our moderators.

I disagree Sam. I believe this is a TRULY great Dolphins Team and Ryan Tannehill is elite. They are winning DESPITE the poor coaching but the better teams, Greenbay, the Lions, and the Broncos found a way due to bad coaching decisions. We won't make the next level with Coyle for sure.
Maybe they can see were they screwed up and fix it this off season!? They are intelligent men so I guess anything is possible. But if they stay the same , then NO absolutely not.
That first Bills game pissed me off when Philben gave up with 2.5 minutes left before the half. Then the Time out crap with Greenbay.
Its got to get better or we will never be better. I'd like to see Hickey throw in the towel on at least Coyle. Tell Philbin if he doesn't like it , there's the turnpike north. Rex Ryan will be available. he has been to two AFC championship games. He knows Ryan Tannehill is a winner and would put him in a position to succeed.
