Bob Griese was a game manager and he is in the Hall of Fame. He did not have the fantastic passing ability of Dan Marino, nor the running ability of a Randall Cunningham.

Tom Brady is a game manager and he is going into the Hall of Fame. He is best at sitting in the pocket and picking out his targets.

Both of these had or have excellent offensive linemen.

To say that Ryan Tannehill is a game manager is not a slight.

It was said only to say that he has come into his own and is a leader this year.

Hey! Why add tackle?

Like I said every QB who has just been intercepted is the BEST tackler on a football team ever!

I can't say I ever saw Chad Henne do it , and he was intercepted quite often. Mat Moore as well.

Well since I started watching pro football in the 50's as a kid. I've seen QBs do that a lot.

Sure they tackle the defender carrying the ball after an interception before. But go back and watch that play, that was a very tough tackle to make and Tannehill really stayed with it fighting off the blocker, fighting to stay in position to make the tackle... They should have scored on the play easily with a fast CB, good blocker and our QB alone in the open field. That is what was extremely impressive in my book...

Exactly Crowder! And he got a face mask on him as well! He still grabbed the SOB by the pads a dragged his ass down. In this era of the NFL you just don't see that type of physical play from a QB. You just don't. I'm sure if and when Ryan meets Terry Bradshaw or any old school player with balls, they are gonna slap his back and recall that play!

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

But you guys misunderstand me. It was such a helluva tackle that I'd defy you to show me a better tackle done by a defensive man.

I have not seen one by a defensive player.

But I've seen a lot of intercepted QBs do the same.

The point is that the juice (adrenaline) is what propels quarterbacks in that situation to tackle. And you have not only that juice but anger.

I get what your saying , and Tannehill was probably really pissed off......But I've yet to see any modern era QB in the last decade do more then trip a DB running full steam with a Pick 6. And if they were big enough to do it like Big Ben , they weren't athletic enough to run them down and hold on. Ryan Tannehill is a bad Mother Fer. And I bet in a huddle if he tells you , you need to step it up , his words now carry greater weight . winking smiley

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

His wife is a lucky woman. Ahhh Treasure I remember the days when I had a man crush... Yep I always wanted to be Maverick from Top Gun. Ole Tom Cruise! Nothing wrong with wanting to be Ryan Tannehill!

Ryan Tannehill has a 95.6 passer rating when not using play action. He has a 82.9 rating in play action.

When using play action plays, which @PFF says Ryan Tannehill uses 26.4% of the time, Tannehill avgs 5.7 yd per attempt. Without it= 7.0

He is a game manager A&O. There's nothing wrong with that. Most good QB's are.

There are very few guys who make everyone around them better just by stepping on the field. Guys like Marino, elway, favre, Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning and Andrew luck are the exception not the rule.

Nothing wrong with being a game manager like Montana, Brady, young, brees, etc etc.

Every elite QB needs to be a game manager IN ADDITION to making plays. Tannehill sure made some plays yesterday (not saying he is elite). He is a game manager BUT he is not JUST a game manager!
