I expect the Phins to add some more big, strong, smart, high character players. Here is how I see our first 4 picks shaking out.

1) 25... OLB Aaron Maybin 6'4" 250 (Penn State)

2) 44... CB Sean Smith 6'4" 215 (Utah)

3) 56... NT Ron Brace 6'3" 330 (Boston College)

What a highly optomistic draft you have here.

There's a bit of a problem. An argument could be made that none of your picks will be on the board. IMHO Sean Smith isn't dropping to 44. There are DB hungry teams in the late 1st early second that will snatch him off the board, NE for one. And we can't let that happen. versatile 6'3 4.45 is special enough to warrant a pick at 25

I still don't see us drafting an OLB that high. With Porter, Roth, Wake, Anderson, Moses and the outside chance of us signing JT, we're fairly loaded at OLB unless we decide to trade Porter or move Wake or Roth inside (which I hope we're not planning on testing). I'd like to see us pick up Laurinaitis or Beckwith in the 2nd round. I haven't done enough research to compile my own mock, but I just don't see OLB as that big a need.

How about Sean Smith at #25 and either Laurinaitis or Beckwith at #44 (depending on who is available)?

Beckwith @ 44 is a reach. Would love too see JL on the board at 44.

Yes I am displaying my mock....again

1- 25 SEAN SMITH CB ----> I think we'll trade down with cards #31 **
2A-45 LARRY ENGLISH OLB/DE
2B-56 CHASE COFFMAN TE
3- 87 RAMSES BARDEN WR
4- 102 JASPER BRINKLEY ILB
5- 153 COYE FRANCIS CB
**5-167 another choice right here would be real nice
6- 176 TERRENCE KNIGHTON NT
7- 189 ANTONIO APPLEBY ILB
7-

we need an ILB with one of the top 2 picks, CB with the other.

really hope Clay Mathews is available at 25. i think his proday really rose his stock.

There's no way Ron Brace will be there at 56 - the bottom of the 2nd round, when so many teams are converting to a 3-4 and there's only two premium NT's in this draft. We'd be lucky to get him even at 44.

And I agree that ILB is a weakness. Trifecta has hidden his intentions for that area of need pretty good. I agree with Montequi, although we need an OLB opposite Porter, it may not be with the first pick.

I believe that Ireland and company will always default to a pass rusher as a draft priority. I'm not sure if Maybin will still be on the board (he's been all over/ some have him as top ten material), but he looks a lot like DeMarcus Ware.

FUNNY HA. I looked at that prospect ranking. It has PAT WHITE listed ahead of RON BRACE,VICTOR HARRIS, and many more. Thats a joke. Diversify your sources JIM. Hey I like your picks. Just take out Maybin around round them up one...thumbs up

I hope they don't mortgage the team by overinvesting on pass rushers. There are only 2 OLBs on the field at a time, and only one of them is usually a designated pass rusher in our scheme.

Anderson was used as a pass rusher in passing situations last year pretty effectively. Roth showed some promise as well. Also, don't forget we signed Cameron Wake!

The problem with our defense last year was our soft middle allowed teams to run on us, which made our pass rush ineffective. This is why Porter's production went way down late in the year, and this is why we need help at ILB, not OLB!

That MIGHT be ok if we ran a 4-3 with a MLB, but you're forgetting Ayodele on the other side...and their backup is Torbor (!!!). Remember the KC game? The middle of our D was like Jello.

Check how often teams ran successfully up-the-middle against us late in the year, and compare it to previous years. We were very poor against the run.

Crowder is decent, but he needs someone else next to him probably making the defensive calls (like Zach used to do) to be successful.

I am still working on my wish list but I must say Jim i LOVE the thought of getting travis beckum in the 4th. This guy is first round talent and he blew me away in games I watched of him in his 2007-08 season. He has been injured last year and his stocked dropped but based on his junior year production he was the preseason #1 TE so he's got serious game and would be an outstanding weapon for henni...

Hey Dolfan13, looking at your draft do you feel that we are strong enough up front on both sides of the ball? I think one of our first day picks has to go to the interior OL. I love eric wood (louiseville) and think he would be a solid late pick. I also agree that one of the first three rounds has to be ILB.

Our defense finished 10th vs the rush last year and allowed 3-100 yard rushers. Hard to complain too much.

We could use some help in the middle but it starts with an upgrade at NT and better play by DE's. They all need to occupy two blockers so our LB's can make plays.

I was originally down on Ayodele but he got around 80 tackles and he left field on 3rd down and other nickel situations. Not too bad. Neither of our ILB's forced turnovers which is what we need.

I saw Porter get tied up one on one many times last year as he struggled to get off blocks. He could maybe work more as a specialist this year if we can find someone who plays the run better.

It will be interesting to see how SIP values the available pass rushers at 25 this year and to see if they go for an upgrade at DE or if they are happy with Langford and Merling. You know we will upgrade NT.

Here is a taste of mine (Reppa and Daytona, watch this),

I truly believe our first 4 picks will look something like this:

1. Rey Maualuga
2A. Clint Sintim
2B. Ron Brace
3. Captain Mutterlyn

Where's the CBs? We actually need 2

ReyRey falling to 25? Don't pinch yourself, because you'll wake up.

Sintim would be an outstanding addition and of course a 3-4 NT like BRACE would be awesome, but you'd have to take BRACE 44-if he's still there.

#25 we'll be trading back with Cards, so they can take RB KNOWSHON MORENO AHEAD OF PHILLY'S 2ND PICK. We'll be in great position then to take the same player we wanted @31- SEAN SMITH and add another pick

Yeah I'm missing a NT in my mock. I think with our injured players rehabbed and the FA additions, we've taken care of the Oline.

I think what will make this come true is when Bill Billicheat decides to go with Clay Matthews over Maualuga.....dropping him right into our lap.

I did a mock draft of the entire first round. i know I will miss some but these are just some of the picks that I would make if i were the gm's of these teams. After doing this, I realized there are a lot of good players left that will be available in the second and third round.

1. Detroit Lions- Matthew Stafford (QB-Georgia). Everybody has this.

2. St. Louis Rams- Eugene Monroe (OT-Virginia). The Rams lost Orlando Pace this year. Some scouts say that Monroe has better hand placement than D'Brickashaw Ferguson and Branden Albert.

3. Kansas City Chiefs - Aaron Curry (LB-Wake Forest). The Chiefs need a lot of help and Aaron Curry is the best player in the draft. They should definitely take Curry.

4. Seattle Seahawks- Chris "Beanie" Wells (RB-Ohio State). The Seahawks, after an injury plagued season also have a number of needs. They addressed wide receiver with T.J Houshmanzadeh. Therefore, I don't think they will take Crabtree. The cornerback class this year has a lot of depth, so they can get a corner later. They did struggle in the running game with T.J. Duckett and Julius Jones. "Beanie" Wells is the back they need to produce the way Shaun Alexander used to.

5. Cleveland Browns- Brian Orakpo (DE-Texas). Cleveland had the 31st ranked pass defense in the league and 26th in Rush defense. Cleveland only had 17 sacks last season. Orakpo had 11.5 sacks by himself. He could play DE or play 3-4 OLB. Orakpo is the best pass rusher in the draft. He was nicknamed "O'SACK'po by college analyst, Lee Corso. He also claimed the Lombardi Award (best lineman), Nagurski Trophy (best defensive player) and Hendricks Award (best defensive end).

6. Cincinatti Bengals- Michael Crabtree (WR-Texas Tech). The Bengals addressed their need at Defensive Line by acquiring Tank Johnson in free agency. Without Carson Palmer last season, The Bengals had the worst offense in the league last season. Now they've lost Houshmanzadeh to free agency. They always seem to draft players with character issues. They had more than their fair share on players being arrested multiple times. Most recently Leon Hall, last year's first round pick. I think that Crabtree, a good character guy, and the best receiver in the draft is where the Bengals should go.

7. Oakland Raiders- Percy Harvin (WR-Florida). The Raiders offense struggled last season. JaMarcus Russel definitely needs a go to guy. Percy Harvin should be that for the Raiders. He is versatile and has a nose for the endzone. He is definitely a dangerous runner in the open field.

8. Jacksonville Jaguars-Jeremy Maclin (WR-Missouri) Jacksonville had an injury plagued offensive line. They addressed that with the signing of Tra Thomas. They've always had bad receivers. Reggie Williams was lost to free agency along with Joey Porter, who didn't do anything. Matt Jones was cut due to his trouble with his cocaine addiction. He was probably their best receiver. Although Jacksonville still has Troy Williamson and Dennis Northcutt, I expect the Jaguars to get multiple receivers in this draft. Maclin caught 32 touchdowns last year. The Jaguars receivers all together caught 8.

9. Green Bay Packers- B.J. Raji (DT-Boston College). The Packers had a horrible rush defense last season. For a team that has to face Adrian Peterson twice a year, that's not good. B.J. Raji, one of the most dominant Defensive lineman in the draft will close up some of those gaps and give Peterson some trouble. The packers will be blessed with this pick.

10. San Franciso 49ers- Mark Sanchez (QB-USC). Mike Singletary wants to create a winning atmosphere. He has a team with mediocre quarterbacks. Winning all starts with the quarterback. He shows good leadership qualities and has a great work ethic. He threw for 41 touchdowns to 10 interceptions. The only knock on him is that he only played one season. I think Mike Singletary will take a chance on him considering the quality of the QB's that he already has on his roster.

11. Buffalo Bills - Michael Oher (T-Miss). He is a Offensive tackle who is a converted guard. He is a first team all american and won the SEC award for blocking. The Bills need to keep Trent Edwards healthy so they can get the ball to Terrell Owens.

12. Denver Broncos - Everette Brown (DE-Florida State). The Broncos desperately need help on the front line. They had one of the worst defenses in the league last season against stopping the run and pass. The Broncos addressed a lot of needs in the secondary during the draft. Brown makes a lot of plays behind the line of scrimmage, 13.5 sacks and 21.5 tackles for a loss during his junior season. He has been compared to DeMarcus Ware.

13. Washington Redskins - Brian Cushing (OLB-USC). Although The Skins ranked 23rd in the league in passing yards per game, They've had an eye on suring up there defense. Cushing being so versatile, can play inside, outside and at the DE position. This is a safe pick for the skins.

14. New Orleans Saints- Malcom Jenkins (DB-Ohio St). Jenkins was a first round grade last season. He is projected to go in the top 10. He won the award for the best defensive back in the nation. He also has some experience at safety. He is a big hitter and two-time all american. The Saints ranked 23rd in pass yards per game last season.

15. Houston Texans - Tyson Jackson (DE-LSU). The Texans had a hard time stopping the run last season. Tyson Jackson is the man to stop the run. He has excellent run containment and had 27 tackles behind the line of scrimmage in his college career.

16. San Diego Chargers - Larry English (DE- Northern Illinois). The Chargers had the second to last defense in pass yards per game. The Chargers missed Shawne Merriman last year, but he will be back. Larry English has high speed coming off the edge. He has been compared to DeMarcus Ware and Lamar Woodley. Some say his size is too small to play DE in the NFL so he could drop back to OLB in a 3-4 scheme. Just like Shawne Merriman. Hmmm.

17. New York Jets- Josh Freeman (QB- Kansas State). With the Jets trading Chad Pennington last year and Brett Favre retiring again. The Jets have no choice but to go quarterback. Freeman is the best available. I'd expect them to trade up but since this is a mock draft, they will stay at 17.

18.Denver Broncos- A.Q. Shipley (C-Penn St). The Broncos current center Casey Wiegmann is 35. The Broncos could use Shipley for the future. Shipley received the trophy for nations best center. He is the kind of linemant that Josh McDaniels needs to turn these Broncos into a Patriot like team.

19.Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Darius Heyward-Bey (WR-Maryland). The Bucanneers addressed their need at QB by signing Byron Leftwich. The Bucs only receivers are Antonio Bryant and Michael Clayton. Joey Galloway is now with the Patriots. DHB faced a lot of double coverage in college and still was able to put up big numbers. He had the fastest 40 time at the combine. That alone will push him up to the middle of the second round and help Tampa Bay extremely.

20.Detroit Lions - Jason Smith (OT-Baylor). Jason Smith will finally come out of the green room. Being the last player that was invited to New York for the Draft selected. He is an amazing run blocker. Detroit also will need someone to protect Matt Stafford. An upgrade at the offensive line this year should help the NFL's only winless team win some games. Smith is an all american at his position and is expected to be picked in the top 5.

21. Philadelphia Eagles- Andre Smith (OT-Alabama). Everyone always expects the Eagles to get McNabb some weapons. Well McNabb needs someone to protect him first. With Tra Thomas gone all they have left is Winston Justice to protect McNabb's blindside. Smith received the Outland trophy in 2008 for best offensive lineman. He dominated college defenders. He would have been the #1 Offensive tackle selected if it wasnt due to some character issues.

22. Minnesota Vikings- Eben Britton (OT-Arizona). The vikings ranked 25th in pass yds per game last year. Britton could play opposite Bryant McKinnie. He is 6'6 309 and could help an already great Adrian Peterson be better and also help get the pass game going by protecting Sage Rosenfels.

23. New England Patriots-Clay Matthews (OLB-USC). Clay Matthews is a versatile LB with great speed and ball hawking ability. The Patriots defense needs to get younger starting at Linebacker. His strong performance at the senior bowl will move him into the first round. Playing on the same team is Rey Maualuga and Brian Cushing, Matthews finished 3rd in tackles for loss and second in sacks.

24.Atlanta Falcons- Travis Beckum (TE-Wisconsin). Beckum could come in as a starter for the Falcons. The Falcons did not have a versatile TE last season. Even though they are a run first team, adding a playmaking TE could help Matt Ryan immensely.

25. Miami Dolphins- Rey Maualuga (LB-USC). The Dolphins would be very lucky if Maualuga falls here. Maualuga is the hardest hitting linebacker in college. He also makes alot of plays in coverage. He's been compared to Junior Seau. He's a good blitzer who reads and reacts quickly. Akin Ayodele didn't do much last year, he could replace him or move Channing Crowder to Outside Linebacker.

26. Baltimore Ravens- Hakeem Nicks (WR-UNC). The Ravens have their eyes on Darius Heyward Bey. With him being gone, the next best pick is Hakeem Nicks. Derrick Mason is 35 and the Ravens need someone else to throw the ball to. Nicks has big hands and can make some circus catches. He is compared to San Diego's Chris Chambers. Nicks holds several school records and also ranked among the best all time in the ACC.

27. Indianapolis Colts-Knowshon Moreno (RB-Georgia). The colts ranked 31st with 71 yards rushing per game. Moreno is a dynamic running back. He can run, pass protect and catch. He rushed for 2,734 yards and 30 touchdowns. He can also line up as a receiver. He fits in perfectly with Peyton Mannings offense.

28. Philadelphia Eagles- LeSean McCoy (RB-Pitt). The Eagles let go of Buckhalter and its time for a change at running back. Westbrook can't do it all. The Eagles struggled with scoring touchdowns in the redzone. McCoy had 35 rushing touchdowns and 2,816 yards in 2 seasons. He was first team all big-east twice. He is lightning fast in the open field and has been compared to Bryan Westbrook.

29.New York Giants-Patrick Turner (WR-USC). The Giants showed how much they missed Plaxico at the end of the season last year. They need a big wide receiver who can make plays. At 6'5, Patrick Turner will be that replacement. He is the biggest receiver in the draft. Not only is he big. He is very fast. He was second team all pac-10 with 749 yards and 10 touchdowns

30. Tennesee Titans- Brian Robiskie (WR-Ohio State). The Titans don't have many needs to address. However they did rank 27th in pass yards per game. Drafting a receiver only makes sense. He caught 127 passes for 1,866 yards and 24 touchdowns at Ohio State. He made the top 10 list among receivers all time for Ohio State.

31. Arizona Cardinals- Jeremiah Johnson (RB-Oregon). With Edgerrin James expected to be released and J.J. Arrington gone, the Cards need a running back. Jeremiah Johnson is blessed with power and speed. He spent most of his career at Oregon sharing the ball with Jonathan Stewart. After Stewart was drafted, Johnson had his breakout season. He averaged 7.1 yards per carry. The Cards have struggled in this category for many years.

32. Pittsburgh Steelers- Vontae Davis (DB- Illinois). The Superbowl Champion Steelers don't have many needs. They did lose Bryant McFadden. Therefore they need a solid starting nickel corner. Davis could come in ad fit the Steelers mold. He is a hard hitting and fast athlete. He sounds like a Steeler already. He led all big ten corners in tackles with 78, he had 11 interceptions and two blocked kicks.
