It's made a difference because it's one less guy on the interior that has to get help with double teams. If we can get better play from the left guard spot, we will be a top 5 o-line, IMO.
An Oline man should be our # 1 pick for sure. Man I wish we were able to grab Zack Martin before the Cowgirls grabbed him. Don't get me wrong about James.....kid is playing Lights out , I just think Zack martin is HOF material. Oh Well.......Lets see what magic Hickey can pull for us next off season.
But in the right and now, I think Pouncy has really brought up the play on the Oline. Too bad he was injured the first half of the season. He's playing Pro Bowl caliber.
James is turning out to be one of the best picks of the first round. Lets not forget that Martin is playing right guard. James is excelling at right tackle and has shown he can jump over to the left side if needed.
I would like to have them both but if given the choice, I'll take the right tackle.

Lets say Pouncey makes the pro bowl as a RG this year, do we trust Satelle again, move Pouncey back to center, or draft a top center next year? My guess is, we'll resign Samson and draft his replacement to groom.

Look at the Play of Tony Homo since his arrival. I'm telling you that kid is the goods despite his name.....

I trust Hickey. We have a huge Luxury there in Pouncy who can play both at a high profiency. I guess we wait and see whats available at our pick which I'm hoping won't be until the 24-26th position this year at least Guard or center. Grab the best available to compliment Pouncy, James and Albert. Finally Tannehill will be able to "think more " read defenses and make plays instead of running for his life.

I guess it depends on what the draft look like. Its a solid strategy.
Figure next years line would be Albert, Turner, Satele, Pouncey, James.
That's pretty good.
Then you have Dallas Thomas a vet or two and a rookie or two filling in behind them.
The only issue is money. If Pouncey wants big bucks then I doubt we sign both him and Satele unless Satele is willing to play for very little.
Its going to be very interesting to see how it plays out, but its nice to have options.
Problem is that we are going to have to start Paying Tannehill after this season and that's going to eat up a lot of our cap flexibility.
It's probably a mix of all these factors you guys are bringing up, but I personally see body language that is identical to what #13 looked like when Tannehill is scanning the field over the past 4 games. I definitely see some Marino influence.
The first half of the Green bay game, our oline interior got beat up on pretty bad... Lazor then started to change the game plan and play calling in the second half which enabled us to get back in the game.. That was not because the oline played better it was because Lazor started calling plays that minimized the impact of the dominant green bay dline...
In the Jags game, the Oline was not very good... IMO the oline is not the difference, it has been Lazor and Tannehill starting to be able to work Lazors system much better that has helped us get the wins... They both have a big challenge this week..
It has also been our defense that has helped us win that Jags game and the others.. If the Lions get an early lead and we are in passing situations all the time, there isnt much our Oline can do or the read option can do to offset that rush... What we are doing in success hasnt really been one thing it has been a culmination of many things, a team improving on multiple facets IMO..

No way I'm going to say that doesn't all help.but its not a coincidence that the whole line is jelling as soon as Pouncy returned. He is a force to reckoned with.
Well that is a pretty good analysis. My problem is that our oline has been in shambles for so long, going back to bullygate that although it makes perfect sense to say that the worst the oline the more difficult for the QB, for some reason the desperateness of our oline seems to bear little relation to the success of our offense although it certainly should.
Remember that winning streak we went on right after losing Martin and Iggy, etc. last year?
I would tend to more credit the use of the read option early in the game.
I don't see Satelle commanding huge money, I'll bet Hickey lets him test the open market for a few weeks then signs him to a modest 2 year deal or so, or he does even better and drafts his replacement.

I think that's a fair statement. I have absolutely no problem with james.
GREAT pick by Hickey. I just think Martin was the best lineman in the draft.we just had a greater need for a lineman so our line in the most improved.

I agree, Treasure, that those positions are a position of need, however, I would also consider an OLB. What we presently have may be good, but since they aren't on the field that often, it is hard to judge.
Depending on where we pick and what is available, should determine what Hickey does.
I think its a No brainer. they let ryan Tannehill go , bottom line is he will be a star somewhere else. my guess is NY will swallow him up like Pamela Lee in a Home Video. Hiskey needs to lock him up while he can and I think he can be had for a great deal. After next season he will be $100 million city.
