This is a moderated phorum for the CIVILIZED discussion of the Miami Dolphins. In this phorum, there are rules and moderators to make sure you abide by the rules. The moderators for this phorum are JC and Colonel.
Hopefully Marino will have some input on the selection of a coach. I believe a good coach will still be able to salvage and develop Tannehill to excel.
You guys that want to throw out the baby with the bath water every season, after every loss, are one of the chief reasons we are in our more than decade long funk.
Since Shula we are averaging a major coaching change every three seasons. We are also averaging a scheme change more often than that. Then we have a new GM or someone acting as a czar in charge and making the decisions for whomever the GM actually was, six or more times (depending on how you want to count them) since Shula, each with a new philosophy on how things should be done and what players to bring in, along with seventeen starting quarterbacks in the last fifteen years...I also realize that teams that do these things are always either bad, or underachieve.
I know people are frustrated, disilliusioned, let down, confused, angry, or a combination of it all of these things, I am too, but we have to find continuity, chemestry, stability, and familiarity. Only through all of that, will we find...consistency.

Same here. IMO until Ross goes we have what we have and are destined to be cannon fodder for the rest of the league. In the end, the owner is the reason for poor management, coaches and players.

Ken stop being a homo. We don't need not want a rally cry. We are tired of shit coaching, shit qb ing etc. get us a real head coach and defensive coordinator then we can talk. Also start Matt Moore and I'll be content.
I've heard the argument for stability, but I don't want to be stable with a sub .500 record year in year out. None of the leaders of this team have my approval at the moment, including even the GM.
We need Ross to get be a big man, cut them all and add Harbaugh. I can't think of another coach right now that could possibly help this team better than him.

RE: Ok, but why don't you stop being the fan that can't see past week three and our most recent loss. The fact is they sky is not falling, and if you don't like what I post, I suggest you don't read them.
Yeah, you'll be content until Moore or whomever, throws his first interception and we lose a game.

It's Monday guys, time to move on and look forward to the next game and a chance to get a win...It's over, we lost again, bitching about it won't change it.
Ok so what do you suggest then Ken? What is your cure all for the mess of our football team? Everyone wants to say it's ok do not over react. Well how should we react? Year three of the current rebuild and pre season hype everyone is happy tempo is amazing defense lights out. Then it's game time and I am watching the same exact offense minus the wildcat of the past 5 years. Terrible terrible defensive play calling. I am sorry I can not just watch a game and go "oh everything will be ok". It will not be ok. So what we will probably win against the one of two teams that is worse than us the crappy Raiders in London and we will probably stuggle to pull this off. Then it's oh look we won we are 2-2. We are not going to playoffs ever with our coaches and QB.
I was just as pissed off as all of you yesterday. But dwelling on it won't make me feel any better so on Monday I let go.
How do we fix things? If I knew the answer to that I'd be worth millions sitting in a cushy office instead of being a police officer making peanuts.
But, If "I" was the coach, I'd start by having a team meeting. In that meeting I'd set the tone and let the team know in no uncertain terms that I expect a few things on Tuesday.
For the players:
1. No bitching...if you bitch you will ride the bench.
2. No mistakes, each mistake made by anyone will result in the largest monitary fine I could levy. Three in one game and you also sit the next game.
Then on to the coaches:
1. Lazor...Agressive offense at all times...no conservatism, no slowing down...ever.
2. Coyle...Start Mclain and Jenkins immediately.
3. Coyle...stop trying to get cute. Get after teams and again be aggressive.
4. Rizzi...if your squad gives up another TD this season you are fired.
5. Then I'd return my entire 2014 salary to Ross in front of the team...and let them know it's because I have not earned it yet.
Okay, TannydaMan, (or whoever you posted as in the "two years" you referred to that you have been posting), are you setting yourself up to be able to say "I told you we would beat the Raiders because they are pathetic" if we win or to say, "wow, we couldn't even beat the lowly Raiders and EVEN I had said we would do so."
there is a difference between true fans on this board who are dissatisfied with Tanny and Philbin and others who have as an agenda to demoralize the fan base.
You came on with the tagname of Tanny's the Man and almost IMMEDIATELY started criticizing Tanny, which made me think that you might just be another posting personality for dolphin aka dolfan1.

How did the Journeyman Moore do on other teams? How did he do when he started here? He is a back up for a reason. Get your head out of your ass and you will stop smelling shit.

Ok so it is my fault our team is underachieving? Also I guess it's my fault that the terrible play and coaching that our team has shown is not the real reason to demoralize it's fan base. Go ahead take your anger and frustrations out on me and other posters. At the end of the day Philben will still be a rock, Coyle will still be putting our defense in a no win situation and Tannehill will still lock onto his first read and fail to get our team over the hump of mediocracy.

Matt More can not do any worse. At least he had moxie and shows emotion, also has pocket awareness. He also throws a more catchable ball and does not have the chronic batted passes Tannehill poses.
Wow, The only personality missing from this disorder is Dopin!
#1....you don't get rid of the only guy who has produced. If anything you give him more power so he can hire the next HC.
Rob Ryan? Really? Give me a break. He is more inconsistent than our coaches. 24th ranked defense right now and last I checked Drew Brees and the Saints have the same record as Miami. Ryan is also ranked 20th in points allowed.

Well Joe you like to bash others opinions and options to help our team, yet where is you're 'almighty' plan? Seeing how you obviously have superior thinking and understanding of who would do what!

Some things just can't be fixed in season.
I don't know what Joe would do but if I'm in charge I wait to see what happens this week.
If we win there is no need to do anything drastic. If we lose I start selling off players like wake and Hartline and anyone else I can think of for draft picks.
Then I tell Philbin he's gone at the end of the year and I tell Hickey to start thinking about replacements who would fit with Lazor as oc.
Lastly I cut Moore and promote Lobato, then make him a the starter.
1-15 should get us the top pick and Marcus Marriota.

Hot damn that's quite possibly the best plan I heard yet. Seriously I would not be upset at all over that.

I like the system.
I think with better interior linemen and a qb with better ball placement, especially on crossing routes and slants, and a legit RB.. the sky is the limit for this scheme.
I wouldn't force him on a great hc but if I went with another inexperienced hc I'd prefer one that has similar offensive philosophies to Lazor.

This is why I am calling for Moore to start. I believe this is his game and he would really accelerate at this offense.
