Philbin = emotionless, just like his team, no hurry up. I believe that Philbin sleeps while standing during the game !!! He probably puts the players to sleep at team meetings. What a waste !!

BINGO.......welcome aboard sir! You get a front row seat!
Yesterday I saw something from Tannehill that I don't think I have seen before. He used a hard count, twice. So, I know he's still developing.
He does what the coaches tell him to do.
I think we'll see steady progress from him as he learns the new system but, he's obviously having problems with the mental aspects of the game.
Maybe so Hooligan, but a plethora of drops, mistakes, penalties, defensive pressure, bad routes, stupid play calls, poor game plans, missed tackles, weak defenses, poor field position and slow starts are not helping him either.

Exactly. They are not putting him in a place to succeed. rather be a scapegoat for their own bad coaching.

Those things are indicative of; bad coaches and bad players. Are we REALLY to believe Tannehill is the lone bright spot? Really? He's no better than the rest. No one can have poor players and poor coaches and perform as poorly as this team has for as long as it has with out having a bigger, deeper problem. After much reflection and lots of drinks over the last two Sundays, IMO, the problem lies at the top. We WON'T go get an experienced head coach but are happy with non-proven rookies, We DON'T spend our money (or our high round draft picks) wisely and "that's all i have to say about that". No owner with any pride in his property (our team) could let it become the second class organization the once proud Dolphins have. I am convinced the team will never get better much less prosper under Stephen Ross. Not saying he's a bad guy or idiot, not at all, he just isn't much of an NFL owner.

Brees was so bad his first 3 years in SD that they took Eli Manning #1 overall and traded him for Philip Rivers going into his 4th season.
It wasn't until that year brees stepped up to a big time NFL qb.
It would be nice if RT was on that same career path but there aren't many guys who make it that way.
It's very disappointing to see no progress over last year.

Re: Never said that RT didn't have issues and warts to work through. Also never said he was better than the rest. He certainly does have deserve his share of blame but it's hard to assign him the lions share as some have done here when you recognize the other issue we have on the team. Everyone is not pulling thier weight. That won't change simply with a switch to Matt Mooore.

Re: Yes, and it's no consistency and contunuity...too many coaching, philosophy, scheme, and personell changes. All of that equals bad or underachieving.

Re: Maybe so...he does make his share of mistakes thats for sure.
Whom do we blame for Tannehill's struggles the past two seasons?
Do we blame Ryan or do we blame the OC that got fired for being ineffective? Sherman was shown the door for good reason and Philbin should never have been hired as HC due to a lack of credentials.
Sure, Ryan has struggled but, how much of that is on him and how much is on the idiots telling him what to do?
It's hard to say when you have a "team" that has consistently found new and creative ways to underperform and disappoint...
The odds with Thill are less than 50/50 that he'll ever be a legit NFL coitusback.
Bottom line -- he ain't getten er done.
But the odds are also better than 50/50 he'd do better (maybe a lot better) somewhere else because --- there's an obvious malady infesting the Davie compound.

I was speaking of the last 8-10 years in general and specifically the Ross era.
Parcells was not hired as coach, mores the pity IMO because I think he WAS successful at that. Instead he was hired as...well king of everything best I can tell. And THERE was the problem (and a bad decision by ROSS). If you look at Parcells track record from Giants to Pats to Jets to Dallas, his success was ALWAYS inversely proportional to the amount of control he had over GM type things.
And Saban didn't have ANY NFL experience (as head coach).

Hooligan, we have to blame everyone...because every coach and player has had a part in the teams struggles. We can't pinpoint the blame because there is too much of it to go around.
KB, fair enough. and yes BP was not HIRED as a coach but he certainly had a hand in coaching and he was always on the sidelines during pactices and camp. No way was he not telling Sparano what to do. True though his sucess started to decline when he sterted to do more than simply coach. The more he did the less sucessful he got. Yes Saban was not a previous NFL head coach but he had a pretty extensive head coaching resume and was very sucessful at it as opposed to guys like Philbin, Cameron and Sparano.
Personally, I think Philbin is the second best guy we had a realistic shot at getting...Jim Harbaugh being the best.
Question is, if we get rid of Philbin where do we go from there? IMHO, that's a one way trip to ensuring a bad team for a further 3-5 seasons...then, we are right back here having this same discussion as we look to fire that guy too.
True Ken, just like the litany of articles on the news wire claiming that Philbin 'refuses' to confirm Tannehill as starter....OK, but THEN WHAT?? ARRRRG!!! WHY didn't they KEEP SOMEONE besides Moore freakin' MOORE if they thought this might happen??? Or worse yet ARE THEY SO INCOMPETENT that they thought it COULDN'T happen????
It's SO frustrating and JUST MORE proof of the real problem, ROSS has created an organizational culture of mediocrity.
The team should be pissed at them all...oh and they need to add Philbin and Lazor to the list.
But the guys that should be head and shoulders, above all else, the most pissed off, are Philbin, Lazor and Coyle...at themselves. Followed very closely by Tannehill, Wallace, Hartline, Clay, Gibson, Landry and Simms.
