That's worse than spousal abuse.

Wonder how Rog handles this.

S-O-A-B!

Adam Beasley @AdamHBeasley

Remember when the league's biggest headache was a bunch of offensive linemen being mean to each other?

Don't know exactly what happened....but if disciplining your child was illegal , I'd be in Prison. I see so many kids that don't get any discipline. People call the police because a 13-15 yr old kid has a small mark on him from an ass kicking they deserved.

Again I don't have all the facts. But the worse parents I've seen are the ones who don't do anything.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

And YES The Pats are so lucky when it comes to shit like this. I wouldn't put it past Belicheat to be hiding in the woods and jump out and put that mark on AP's kid.........

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Looks like AP will be benched for the game due to a warrant for his arrest for child abuse stemming from his disciplining his son and apparently unintentionally injuring him.

We gashed them on the ground and now they get whoever AP's backup is instead of the best RB in the league.

this is a tough one.

I got the belt a few times but it instilled a healthy fear in me and my brothers.

All dad had to say is 'don't make me get the belt" and we'd straighten right up.

AP truly believes he did nothing wrong and he's going to get a lot of support on his side. Unfortunately the media will portray it as a beating and the public will demand swift justice.

You can put kids in timeout all you want but there is no reasoning with toddlers. they don't have the mental capacity to process it. They remember a spanking and know what they did to get it.

Adrian Peterson ran for only 75 yards on 21 attempts last week in the 34-6 win over the Rams. 3.6 ypc.

Cordarelle Patterson ran for 102. They still have to contend with him.

Cassell was 17/25 for 170 yards and 2 td's.

Peterson's backup Matt Asiata had 5.0 ypc but only rand the ball twice.

Hopefully another let down for the Pats as they start their skid.

I get at least one call a night from a parent who want me to discipline their child. I tell them flat out.....Its your kid, time to be a parent. My kid? I NEVER EVER get a call from school or from any adults complaining on my boys because they know that if they ever ever did , my foot would do the talking. On the flip side....they get rewarded pretty damn good also. The only reason I still travel all the way to Miami instead of sitting in my comfy chair to watch games is for them.

I've been around some of these Liberal dept of children and family people. They call us out to a home to investigate child abuse when a kid has a red mark on his back. They believe that's definitive proof of child abuse. NO.......unless its serious bodily injury, missing teeth, broken bones, or a bleeding wound, all I have to do is determine "intent". Why was the child hit? bad language , grades, not doing chores etc. its all acceptable . I document it and move on. And it leaves these parents afraid to ever discipline their kid again. F That. Giving your kid a good kick in the ass is part of the Job YOU signed up for.

I need more facts on the AP case however. I wonder if the arrest was made to be on the safe side of individuals afraid of being accused of a cover up rather then doing what was right.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

I agree with ya, Treasure. Things are out of hand, but has been for quite some time. "Beating" and "disciplining" are two different things, but the law and (mostly) society have put it all in one basket.

Granted, in regards to Peterson, leaving those kinds of marks on his son's body "may" have been a (somewhat) overboard discipline, but it was done with a switch. If Peterson had used a paddle or something like it, and left marks (of course the damage could have been more severe) then I can understand the uproar, but this? And Peterson is being indicted?

With this public sensitivity, kids have been running roughshod over their parents and the parents can do very little about it (see Peterson). Anyone notice how society has gone down the shitter and do we, as a society, even question it?

The most parents are able to do now is put their child(ren) in a "time out." A time out...really? Anyone seen Sinbad's standup routine where he talks about discipline vs time out? Its very funny but on the mark.

Anyway, I'm wondering if there is really more to this than any of us are aware of?

I'm sure Chryen can add something to this.

As to your last paragraph, Treasure, why is Peterson on the inactive list and Hardy (Panthers) is still playing?

I don't have to spank me kids. I have a very scarey loud demanding voice when I go into father mode. All I got to do is say there name and ask the question really? Of course I so spend a lot of time explaining things about respect, love, hate and the persuit of happiness and how to achieve it.

The most important element MISSING from kids today is they don't seem to have been taught the Golden Rule, "Do unto others as you would have done to you."

And if you see bullying, take up for the victim and consider what you would do if it was done to you.

When I grew up bullies had a short shelf life because the jocks, the other kids, even the thugs loved to step in front of bullies. They had no fear because the teachers would back them up.

Today bullies thrive because you guys must be teaching your kids, "Don't get involved."

That's why we have crap for a society today and that's why Isis thinks its cool to execute helpless people. There are no more heroes in this generation it seems. No Supermen, no Batmen.

I agree ChrynB, with that said my oldest got into a fight with a bully on the bus because she stood up for her little brother. My kids do not bully and have no problem sticking up for themselves. I won't allow them to be to soft. I also do not allow them to be mean and hateful.

Yeah, but you said "she." In the old days, some other boy would have stuck up for your boy.

Can't say, but Florida's Laws against child abuse might be very different then those of Minnesota's. Here in Florida disciplining your child is not only allowed....its encouraged. But there is a difference between what is discipline and what is abuse.I have to determine that all the time and I'd say 1 out of every 20 investigations is ever a criminal violation.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Yes. Often, the injury will be obviously severe, or there will be the use of a weapon or X rays will show healed formerly broken bones. Or physical punishment is inflicted on a baby. A supreme court justice once said about obsenity, "I may not be able to define it but I know it when I see it."

Same thing for cops and child abuse.

Luck or maybe Worship of New England. Just what we needed. Jim Rome and Charles Barkley on CBS. The Patriots lost due to the Miami Heat. And staying with Basketball. Thanks Charles. I was not aware that Bill Belichick also coached on the NBA. Apparently with Gregg Popovich. Hard to say what people are smoking today.
