By helmet, do you mean like the padded helmet to protect fragile, retarded, mashed potato brains?

Agreed about Zach, I would think JT would have to sign with us for nothing and have a 8 to 10 sack minimum final season or something there abouts. If JT comes back and signs for 5 to 8 million and does what he did in Washington, to much baggage to be in the ring
How about this, sign Jason Taylor back if we can get him at a good price (after the 365 day Washington trade stipulation, which would be after the draft, so we can keep our 2nd round pick from Wash) and trade Joey Porter for an early 3rd round or late 2nd round pick. That way we've got a replacement of sorts, a better one at that, who's about the same age and not just a one trick pony. And we get a high draft pick out of it, which I would love to have.
how abotu keep joey and sign JT and sign torry holt, or harrison too a two year deal, and draft another number one wr, draft alot of defense, and make a run at superbowl, then drop taylor and trade porter next year.

What are we starting a retirement home or building a franchise?
“We’ve talked about it, but at the end of the day that’s all we can do is talk about it," Porter said "It’s still for the people upstairs to (decide). But I love Jason. He can’t do anything, but help us. If there’s a way we can get him back, we want him back.
“It’s kind of tough to talk about it when the front office really has to handle it. I don’t like to go outside my coaches, because, at the end of the day, they’ve got to make the final decision and I’m with them all the way. Jason, I talk to him every day, so he knows I need him.”
That is pretty cool for Joey to say that. It only increases the chances for a reunion. You know the FO's biggest worry would have been upsetting the team chemistry as Joey is our defensive leader.
Hopefully they could mix them up and keep both of the old men fresh all year and play them both at times on each end as well.
Panteraize mentioned signing JT after the Washington 365 day trade stipulation. I hadn't heard of that. Would we have to wait until a full year has passed since the trade to sign JT?
It is being reported that all teams in the AFC East are interested in JT. That surprises me about the Jets. It tells me that what Ryan said about Gholston was just lip service and he will not be a factor this year.
Tampa who also showed interest. He would reunite with Jim Bates but they are nowhere near to being contenders.
Miami is the perfect place for Taylor but they sound like they are posturing to show little interest to drive the price down.
Miami is a contender. JT could restore his status as a marquee player to help with his retirement and stay at home with his family.
The dolphons brass has got to feel pretty good about the trade, getting a 2nd and a 6th and having JT hanging around again.
Parcells is a business man, and if the price and attitude is right may consider the opportunity to add some talent.
On the down side, JT wasn't much value in the locker room / leadership areas, when he left. The staff would have to think thru whether he could come back as an asset or a drag on the team morale.
If JT was what he used to be, he'd be playing in Washington.

On the leadership discussion, couldn't hold Marino's jock. Does not even belong in the same discussion.
Zack was a great leader on defense, he had heart and made everone around him bettewr for it. JT had good talent, never saw a good deal of leadership, more so individual contribution.
maybe this was the plan all along? old parcells lol sneaky bastard, genious if you ask me get two draft picks for one year off, lol beautiful absolutly beautiful.
Sound like JT is ok playing on the Strong side too. It would be nice if Roth could move inside at SILB but I have heard nothing about that.
We could then still draft a WOLB and let him learn from the best. Someone like Connor Barwin who many say will need at least a year to learn the position.
Porter played SOLB a few years ago and was mediocre. Could JT do better at the unfamiliar postion? He is definitely a better athlete than Porter but is he big enough to set the edge?

Everyone is forgetting about Cameron Wake. I think he'll be our starting WOLB next year.

No disrespect to you but I can understand how people make those kind of statements. What are you basing that thought on? Have you watched any film on him when he was at penn state? what about the CFL? I dont know maybe you have, if I had to put money down I would say you havent so just out of curiosity what makes you think he will be the starter?

Whatever Reppa. I HAVE watched film on him in the CFL. He matured tremendously in the CFL. He was the Most Outstanding Defensive Player in the CFL last year. He's shown excellent instincts and a relentless motor. He's far better than Roth, and his attitude and dedication make him the kind of player that Parcells (and Sparano) covet. I say, barring injury, Wake will be our starting WOLB on day 1.

Reppa better stop before he digs himself too big a hole. That IS idiotic. I suppose we should have suck with WoodStrock.
