What would you take in trade for Matt Moore?
Posted by: Crowder52 ()

With Sam Bradford's future uncertain after another injury last night, it got me thinking... Moore would probably be worth a lot to the Rams if Bradford's knee is done again.... If the Rams wanted him, what should Hickey ask for in trade for Moore... Who else is better then Moore that the Rams could go after for cheaper a price?

Or just no way, Moore is to valuable to us to trade... Every NFL team needs a good back up... If we trade him away we are just one play away from being in the Rams dilemma...

Never happen.

Not so sure Miami would bite even if the Rams did offer a first rounder as Quinn, yet, hasn't shown enough to warrant Miami letting Moore go.

There are other QBs out there that the Rams could get.

Well since he is on his last year of deal. Anything really. Not like they will play him unless Tanny gets hurt at which Moore just not consistent enough to win big game.

I didn't think it would happen, I'm just saying Moore is valuable as a very solid backup. So we want to keep him unless the offer is way too good to pass up. A first rounder is way too good to pass up.

Well, we figure to be better this year than last year when we were 8-8.

So we really need a good backup because this is no longer the days when losing your starting quarterback to a season ending injury is a rare thing.

Now, UNLIKE 20 YEARS AGO, it's a miracle if a quarterback DOES NOT go down with an injury.

So the SECOND HALF OF THE EQUATION is IS THERE ANOTHER AREA OF NEED WHERE YOU CAN TRADE FOR TO SHORE UP YOUR TEAM?

I say no.

I'm impressed with our running backs.

The receivers are "we can get by" level.

The line seems to be holding up in pre-season. Ryan has not suffered the same degree of sacks as he did last year.

The run defense seems to have improved.

The pass defense is okay.

So what do we really need so badly that we give up Moore for?

Yeah, he may be a free agent next year but are you worried about next year or this year?

The thing about getting a first rounder from the rams next year is this.....

The rams are not going to be that good so we will get a really high first round pick.

Think About this for a moment.

So IMO if we get a first round pick in return, its a no brainer. Got to go for it.

I agree with where you are coming from JC on his value to us... But I would let him go for a 2nd.... Not sure I would do it for a 3rd or not... He is probably more valuable to us then a 3rd rd pick...

A first round pick for Moore?

That wouldn't even work in Madden '15.

I was hoping they would offer us a 3rd rounder for Tannehill.

No way a 1st rounder. Maybe a conditional 2nd or 3rd. IF they reach the playoffs or beyond. It would be funny though to imagine Dolphin cursing and running around his moms basement throwing stuff.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

IT would not surprise me if they do trade Moore, they sure dont want any competition for Tanneyhill. They sure dont want any second guessers.

If I had no balls as Philpin appears not to I would trade Moore for sure.

They are going to sink this ship with Tannehill for sure

No, not seriously. Because I 'seriously' don't want to trade him.

It's like me having a three bedroom house in a middle class neighborhood on a postage-stamp lot in an average suburb. I like my house a lot. I don't want to move. Some guy rolls up in a fancy car and says 'how much for the house'. I tell him 'five million bucks and it's yours'. Is my house Seriously worth 5 million bucks? Hell no. But I don't want to sell it. It'll take an Insane amount of money to get rid of something I don't want to get rid of.

Fair enough. But in the same scenario if your house is really only worth $250,000 and he cames back with a realistic offer of $500,000 or say.......even $1 million because he is desperate, don't you take it and run!?

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

LOL. SamSam, he was throwing out the $5 million to the prospective buyer in his example (he, he,) because he didn't want to sell the house and he knew the buyer would never pay that amount. (hee, hee, hee.)

Berk- SO are you saying you would let him walk for a conditional 4th rd pick? The question is kind of multi faceted, it is not just what we could get for him, it is also what would you let him go for... JC took the approach of what he is worth to let him go, not so much what his market value would be...

No I'm saying the best we could get is a 4 th. I'd rather have Moore than that so I hang onto him

500K no. A million, maybe. So I guess I want 4x what Moore is really worth spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

That's about right. A 1st rounder for a guy worth around a 4th. BUT.......they are desperate. That bumps him up to a 3rd. I don't think a conditional 2nd rounder if they make the playoffs is far fetched.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

****************************************************

I don't see a first rounder, but which round would depend on how desperate a team is.
