I'm originally from the South too, y'all.

I like your analysis....more insightful than that northeast-leaning ESPN stuff.

You know what, it could be argued that Tanny is better than Brady at this point as a QB. That's the best news so far in the season...i think Brady really regressed last season, and this season could be even worse for him as he doesn't have the weapons he used to have or the arm anymore (especially long range).

Dolphins aren't so bad at RB either...I think with better a blocking scheme and a less predictable offense, we could see some good things from that dept. Jest are way overrated.

The offensive line rankings are hard to predict until the real season begins. Patsies are always good there, but we can be pretty sure the phins won't be as bad as last season.

Bottomline, I think the phins will be ok at offense, the weakness of the 2014 squad is on the other side of the ball.

I have to agree with most of what was stated with only a few comments...

1. Jets TE this year could end being a monster. Jace Amaro, rookie. Pats may be using Brandon LaFell in a role similar to the one Hernandez played in NE.

2. The Bills are definitely the better rushing team. They ranked #2 in the NFL last year compared to the Pats #9...and that was with a line in flux after losing key players to FA.

3. Lamar Miller was singled out last year for his inability to pass protect after a couple of terrible whifs shown on camera. In reality he only gave up 2 sacks all year long. Daniel Thomas gave up 3 in half the passing snaps. LM allowed 7 total pressures which would tie him with (ironically) Knowshon Moreno. Moreno only had 6 more passing snaps than Miller.

RE: toko34 & RT

I don't see much of an argument for RT being better right now and I am a huge RT fan. Brady has regressed but still managed to field the 10th ranked passing team with who exactly, at WR? 2nd and 3rd tier WR's and rookies. He is just more accurate and clutch right now even though I doubt he ever wins another SB title. He is still a top 5 QB.

On a side note: I heard a great point the other day on NFL AM....

Brady/Belichick/NE has not won a title since they failed to rebuild the defense from 2004. Bruschi, Vrabel, McGinest, Seymour, Rodney Harrison, Ty Law.

Yes, and my favorite way of conveying that point to my fellow Bostonians is:

Brady/Bellichick/NE have not won a title since they
GOT CAUGHT CHEATING!!!!

Good rankings overall.

I think I'd have given us a better grade on the oline.

Last year's Oline was easily the divisions worst, but adding Brandon Albert is no small thing.

We have two pro bowlers at LT and C and they are better than any two lineman the bills or jets have.

Except one of those Pro Bowlers may miss 1/4 of the season (or more).

As one doctor has stated..."Recovery needs to be near complete so that he doesn't re-injure it when putting stress on it."

He may end up on PUP and be out for half the season.

Brady is still the best qb in the AFC east until Tanne tops him. A 3rd year Tanne is definately better than a second year Geno or Manual no big insight their. I hate the Jets but if Geno improves a little it could mean a big upward swing for the Jets, same w/ Manuel.

The oline will make or break us this year no real insight their either. I just hope guys like Albert take charge and get these guys to overachieve.

I can't make the argument in past stats or numbers right now that Tanny > Brady, but in projected numbers for this season and next---Wait and see! In other words, potential trumps laurels when we are talking about the 2014 season and beyond.

That's a fair point, but if we are just talking talent levels then we aren't the worst Oline in the division.
