I like Murray more than any other QB in this draft, especially in our system.
I'm also always in favor of trading down when your best options (Ebron, Evans, Donald, Barr, Pryor, etc) are all gone.
But if we take any QB before the 4th or 5th round its a wasted pick. None of them represent a better option than Tannehill for this season and if RT develops even a little this year, its his job for the next 5 years. Using a 2nd or 3rd on a guy who is likely to never play for us isn't something I'd do.
If I could get him later, he'd be a nice insurance policy and if he develops, he'd be easy to trade in a few years.
Any player taken in the top 100 or so pick has to contribute some as a rookie and be a starter/impact reserve in year two or its a wasted pick.
Not sure I like the Antonio Richardson pick in that mock. Another Tennessee tackle? Some say the RT may be better...JuWan James...
How would you feel about this trade down scenario???...this was after all the tackles were gone and most of the top prospects at positions of dire need.
Round 2 Pick 5 (ATL): Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE, Washington (B+)
Round 2 Pick 18: Morgan Moses, OT, Virginia (A)
Round 3 Pick 4 (ATL): Weston Richburg, C, Colorado State (A)
Round 3 Pick 17: Joel Bitonio, OT, Nevada (C)
Round 3 Pick 25 (S.D.): Telvin Smith, OLB, Florida State (A)
Round 4 Pick 16: Daniel McCullers, DT, Tennessee (A)
Round 5 Pick 15: Jerick McKinnon, RB, Georgia Southern (A-)
Round 6 Pick 14: Jeff Janis, WR, Saginaw Valley (A)
Round 7 Pick 19: Walt Aikens, CB, Liberty (A)
Your score is: 4894 (GRADE: A-)
That gives is competition at OT as well as G/C, WLB, DT, a red zone TE target and Aikens as competition at FS/CB.
I ended up trading down twice from the first round and adding extra picks. I don't see Bitonio dropping that far. he would probably go in the lower 1st or high to mid second.
