Patterson was a hell of a player when he was on the field... The guy was a ball hawk.. he just wasn't worth a million per game played which is close to what he got last year from us.... But as little as he got on the field, I believe he still lead our team in interceptions... I sure hope he still has injury issues because if he plays healthy all season the Jets seriously upgraded there defensive backfield...

I agree if it wasnt for injuries patterson would had been a steal. He was lights out when he was on the field...The little time he was on the field.

Do you imagine a healthy grimes and a healthy patterson?

Madison, surtain all over again.

Man.....that was one of the main reasons Zach Thomas was so successful. Those two covered the backfield like no others. Tom Brady in his prime said he dreaded going up against that defense back then. Jimmy Johnson was on his way if he just had 2 more years to give. sad smiley Oh well that was then and todays today. Signing Grimes was a great move but we need a linebacker that can react like Zach did. He was always a step ahead of the play and rarely missed a Tackle. if Ever.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

mistake letting him go. he was great when he played, I am sure the jets didn't pay him all the much and we should've resigned him to a lower amount

For what to sit on the bench the entire year. He is a walking wreck and injury prone.

Agreed but he cannot stay on the field.

Guy has instincts. You can't teach that and it always makes someone really dangerous over the most clueless more athletic and healthy person (Dion Jordoneye rolling smiley). But if you can only play 3-8 games a season you are just taking up rooster space IMO.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Of course now that he's with another team, he'll play a full season and help a rival to beat us twice this season. I can see it too easily.

I know we had the worst O line in history , But seriously , It was our defense that let us down to lose those games. Our Run defense was non existent. if we don't acquire impact players on defense to match our back field we are in trouble.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

ESPN is reporting that leaving the contract signing ceremony Patterson tripped over a pair of dirty mannequin feet that Rex keeps in his office and shredded all three ligaments in each knee. He's been placed on the DL.
