I'll tell you how I found this site and message board: in 1994 when I first got web-internet access, the first thing I searched for was a dolphins site. This was the first/only one that came up with the search engines of the time. Search engines were a brand new concept back then.
After looking around the site I noticed that the founder/owner was also in New England so that made it even more awesome to me.
Not from the Herald's site. I started on the Dolphin's usenet group.
As the internet developed and things got fancier I stumbled across Curt's sight. I remember back then there was a guy 'Dirty Cash Holdings' (cool ass handle) who used to give some good inside info on the Phins.
The Dolphins themselves used to have a chatboard. I was on that. Not much warfare on that board but the Dolphins decided to end it.
I know there was a guy called Curt on that board. Don't know whether it was Curt Fennell. But there was also a guy who called himself the "Diceman" on that board and he and I were probably the most frequent contributors.
I was on the Dolphins Message Board thru AOL for many years. AOL shut down all their boards, but luckily a poster from here (can't remember who) had a post suggesting this board, and here I am.
A big time fan and friend I grew up going to games with suggested the site.... he is a diehard so the recommendation held weight and I joined....

Yep. I was "Doctor Feelgood" on the old HeraldTalk site, and still am here.
That said, I'm pretty sure I discovered phins.com *before* I discovered HeraldTalk, and I've been a user of Curt's "Phins News Wire" page pretty much since the day it rolled out. And to this day, that's my goto page for Dolphins news. I reload it 10-15 times a day probably, just checking to see if there's anything going on.
And yeah, Ray Ray, Jet Nut, Neil 3:16 and the other Jets fans who used to come on HeraldTalk were all a real riot. Those guys tried to get me fired from my job one time, many years ago... it was hilarious.
JC, I searched our message list for my posts and it only went back five years. Does that reflect a limitation on the post history because I would say it has been more than five years since the official miami dolphins chatboard closed?
Years ago, I used to subscribe to the dolphin digest for my official news and insight into the team. I stumbled accross Curt's site on the web and I've been here ever since...it was then and still is the best site out there for all things Phins.

This phins.com message forum has nothing to do with official miami dolphins chat board.
The 5 year thing is probably due to Curt changing formats or rather, the software that runs the message board about that long ago...the software now called "Phorum" but the platform before that was something else that didn't run things as smoothly. When Curt did the changeover the old messages from the old format were not archived.

My exact same path, I used to damn near wait by the mailbox every week for my digest before the internet

RESPONSE: I didn't mean to leave that impression. I was just saying where I came from. After that was shutdown, I came here. I was just saying I remembered that there was a Curt on that chatboard and wondering if it was the same guy who maybe started this whole thing because he was frustrated by the close down of that chatboard.

markey posts in the palm beach post comments section. a homer if there ever was one.
sporti and his draft manifestos. that guy was a riot.
I feel bad about not keeping in touch with some of those folks. Ray Ray and I spoke in real-life a couple of times, although we never met face to face. At one time we lived relatively near each other, but he moved back up north somewhere right after I moved near him.
One of the other Jets fans also lived in NC and we met up for a couple of games. I lost a bet with him once, on the first Dolphins/Jets game of the season, and had to go watch the second game at the bar where the Jets fanclub meets. Of course we lost that game as well. F%!#$ I hate the stinkin' Jets!
I talked to Jess in LA a few times offline as well, but never got to meet her.
I missed CrazyZach's draft party the first year (the year that one NE fan sent lobsters or something), but I made it the second year. That was a blast. IIRC, that was the year we drafted Jamar Fletcher. Boooooo. :-(

Feelgood, Bryan Allen posts at the new worldcrossing board every once in a while. He's not in good health. Not sure but his sister posted at the herald board.
Beer, sporti, markey, boats and the old dude who faked his demise and sent the board in a uproar.
that place was 10% football talk and 90% smack and funny. that's why I posted there. that's how I want to kill my work day. not this armchair gm/coach crap.
dave porto and I had a blast there.
ray and I golfed here in Orlando about 10 years ago. we conconcted a story for the board that we brawled on the 13th hole. pure board comedy for weeks.
jim b I believe is boats. fess up my fellow ohio peep!
