I've never been a huge Thigpen fan.

If we made a move there, I'd have no problems with it at all.

Hester is originally from the Treasure coast and I have met his dad locally. Dave is a childhood Dolphins fan and I would think he would like to end here, HOF career here. Its not about the money anymore for him.

in today's league can a team really carry a guy who only does KR and PR especially where KR are so devalued? Not sure we need him or can spend a spot on such a specialist

He knows this and told Teams he can play wide receiver as well. I think that's what the Dolphins are checking to see. If he can play Slot as well.

31 is way too old for a return guy. Thigpen is still weapon. Just need better blockers....aka roster depth

Comes down to price. If he wants the league Min for a Veteran then its certainly worth a shot.

Yes he's up there in age, but he's still a dangerous returner. If the price is right, bring him on.

Thigpen is a liability. Doesnt know when to catch a punt and when not to. I don't want him.

That's if we get Hester and KEEP Thigpen, Treasure.

Difference between the two is that Hester is a return specialist that is a WR and Thigpen is a return specialist that is an RB.

So if it's deciding between the two, in addition to the age factor, that has to be figured in to.

Of course, we saw little of Thigpen at RB but the few rare times we did, I liked him.

Oh Definitely. I never said get rid of Thigpen. But for depth and return duties , at the right price , I think he would also make a great influence as well on the younger players. He could even help all special Teams prepare for and against other Teams.

Just curious, but which of his 7 career carries as a dolphin convinced you he was "very good" and that Miami has been wasting his talent?

I saw a couple of good plays from Thigpen (a good gain from a swing pass being one of them), but I saw nothing that would indicate he could be a very good RB.

Could he be a very good RB with more playing time? I don't know, and we will probably never know as I don't think this coaching staff will give him that opportunity (unless Lazor changes things completely).

The coaches will have to concentrate on Miller's development to get anything from this running game.

Despite Hester's age, his kicking game was better than Thigpen's, along with Thigpen dropping off from his previous season, but...

Hester is being considered a one-trick pony. He was unable to make his mark at WR both at the UM and Chicago. Hester is that one piece that a Super Bowl contending team is on the lookout for. Miami is not that team.

Hester is presently visiting other teams, so Miami will not be willing to put out the money for him that other's will probably be offering.

That's the point Cap. They guy has 7 NFL carries in his life and none of them were all that special. Its a stretch and a half for anyone to suggest he's so good he's being wasted on the bench.

Is a complete misread.

A couple of us said basically we didn't see much from Thigpen at RB but liked what we saw and would like to have seen more.

TT takes off wildly from that and says that we basically declared Thigpen to be a future Hall of Famer.

We never even said he was good. We just said we liked what little we saw and wanted to see more.

TT then takes from that that we were saying that Thigpen was being "wasted on the bench."

Nobody ever said that. All we said was we didn't see enough and from what little we saw, we liked. That's a far cry from us being psychic and saying that from what little we saw he WAS great (instead of could be good) or that he was 'WASTED' on the bench.

But when TT wants to wrestle, he doesn't let facts get in the way.
