That's awesome news (for the right price)! It's a 4 year deal. Terms unknown.

as long as the team can get out of the deal after 3 years tops I am good with it. I said before that a 3 year deal for about 20 mm with say 12mm gteed would make sense. I can't see us paying big $$ we could not get out of in year 4 when grimes is 35.

I am thinking the guaranteed money will have already been paid at the end of year 2.

4 years 32 mil, 16 mil guaranteed. Not too awful bad. I still want to see how they spread it out over the cap...and other terms...optional or opt-out years etc,

That leaves us around 32 mil left in cap space. Was 39,181,214.

Solia's agent tweeted that it won't be Paul, he also said it's been a great 7 years in Miami but it's time to move on

and now the question is do we use that tag on someone like solia again, or no tag this year?

great move signing grimes without the tag and w/o letting him hit FA

hope the numbers make sense

DE $13.116M; DT $9.654M; LB $11.455M; CB $11.834M; S $8.433M; K/P $3.556M.

QB $16.912M; RB $9.54M; WR $12.312M; TE $7.035M; OL $11.654M.

Nobody we have is worth those numbers.

Sign them or let them walk

Because I knew it would be a ridiculous suggestion where we end up paying a two-down, role player $10 mil a year when he could be had for half that. We have no one worthy of a franchise tag. Too much money.

This was a No Brainer. So most likely Ireland would have let him walk ! spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

Good move. Lets just hope he keeps that eye of the Tiger for a while.

Great move signing him today, exactly what I thought he would get around 8 million a year... Expected it to be 3 not 4 but, I imagine with the guaranteed money the 4th years isn't really guaranteed so no big deal... Sounds like the 3 rd year probably isn't guaranteed either... Either way fair deal... While some say Grimes was replaceable, I don't entirely agree with that...
