This is a moderated phorum for the CIVILIZED discussion of the Miami Dolphins. In this phorum, there are rules and moderators to make sure you abide by the rules. The moderators for this phorum are JC and Colonel.
Numerous league sources, including executives from other teams, say the Dolphins might also be open to dealing receiver Mike Wallace and pass-rushing ace Cam Wake. That perception has only grown through the course of this week, through conversations with numerous decision-makers from other clubs, as Miami looks to retool its roster under a new regime. PFT
I was just writing a post earlier about this possibility although I suggested trading Wake since he could garner a high pick and only has a few years left.
Put Vernon at the strong side and Jordan at the weak side in a LEO role like Seattle does.
Interesting to see what these layers are worth. Jordan already cost us a #3 and #42. We should have taken Lane Johnson!
He probably would be highly ranked in this draft behind only Clowney as a pass rusher so why not give up a top 10 pick for him? At least he is healthy this year.

If team is looking into trading our strengths position and retooling, all it indicates to me is current management is buying time and doing blaming game.
Unfortunately, since we are the Miami Dolphins and these are the dysfunctional things we do - we are setting ourselves up again for disaster.
Ross is an imbecile. If he was going to fire Ireland, he needed to clean house. I didn't see a better coached team this last year, as a matter of fact I saw a team play its worst football in the last couple games of the year with the opportunity to get to the playoffs. That is coaching! Coaches didn't have their players ready! He chose Sherman as our OC and look where that ended up. He chose Coyle as our DC and we get worse every year. Cameron (did I just do that) I mean Philbin is a dud!
this team is a complete joke. I would say the idea of trading Jordan is ridiculous on its face, but then I need to consider that this is the dolphins we are talking about, so it is probably true.
if so then it fits the pattern---give up a lot for a good player, then sell him at his lowest point for cents on the dollar, and watch him excell elsewhere (see, e.g., B Marshall, V Davis).

I said it a two weeks ago in the other thread on how3 to approach the off season.
If I'm trading a player for extra picks, its Wake.
His value will only decline from here. He's 32 at the end of next year.
He makes the most money out of our DE's.
He'll bring the highest return.
It is ALWAYS better to trade a guy a year early instead of a year too late.

Much ado about nothing Berk.
Its just a new GM finding out how his peers value his roster.
Its Hickey doing his due diligence.
You don't know if someone is going to give you a windfall for a player until you ask. Once you ask, they assume you are having a fire sale.
Its possible we will trade EVERY player on the team. Its unlikely we are looking to get rid of everyone just to start over.
If you are a good GM then every player on your team is always available for the right price.

Chris,
If you are a gm you should be listening to offers on EVERY player. Nobody is untouchable.

Hopefully this is just horse sh*t talk, as Truth said, the new GM just stirring up the cobwebs......
The idea of a complete rebuild job, surely didn't sound like what Mr Ross was talking the other night on his conference call... He was talking about being so close, so he wanted to keep the team/coaches together.... Trading Wake, Wallace, and Jordan is a complete gut job... I sure hope this is much to do about nothing... Besides who in their right mind would willingly take on Wallace's 60+ million dollar contract.... That is too far fetched.....duh!!!!!

I'd trade him (or any player) to any team if the deal makes sense.
And as I said earlier, pats would have to pay more since they are a division rival.

Would you trade him to NE for a pair of 1st round picks?
I think fair value for him is a mid to late #1 and a #2 right now.
If I was going to send him to a team like NE I'd have to get more than that. And it would have to be enough to make me live with making that trade.
a pair of #1's would get NE a seat at the table if I was auctioning Wake off.

If we had to eat the rest of the guaranteed money then I'd imagine a lot of teams would be interested.
He had a 60m deal with 27 mill guaranteed.
Whomever your dealt him to would have him at 4 years at 33M with none of it guaranteed.
That's a bargain and a half for a player with his skill set.
Truth- yeah but we would have to eat 27 million for one year of play, that isn't happening.... Sure just about any player is a good deal if the team trading eats all of his guaranteed money... But no team does that....
