Blocking responsibilities for an H-back/FB are far different than for an inline TE.

He can handle run blocking from the backfield or in motion 10 times a game far better than pass protecting or runblocking from a 3 point stance against a bigger stronger opponent.

Clay is a matchup nightmare in certain situations.

Primarily when you get him covered by a LB. If you have Wallace, Hartline and a TE like Ebron with Clay as the Hback you can get him matched up against an MLB whenever you want from a defenses base set. If they try to stop that lineup with a nickle package you have clay run blocking against a DB in most cases.

Its a win win

Why is everyone getting up in arms over a rumor?

If a trade happens, then go crazy.

Because it's a chat board and a real possibility and it's the off-season and we're having NFL withdrawals.

Really not understanding this move....

Austin Spitler tendered as exclusive rights FA for 1.32 mil!

That's way too much for what he does.

RJ Standforf 630k

Pat Devline tendered at 540k (this one's ok)
