I assume you are talking about Zach and not Jonathan...lol

and Wade Smith???

Some view Zach Martin as a G or RT but it would be a risk to start a rookie left tackle unless it's Mathews or Robinson IMO.

Clabo played well over the second half but I would have worries about signing a player of his age (33) since he will earn about 3.5 mil.

LT Monroe
LG Schwartz
C Pouncey
RG Asomoah
RT Zach Martin

Lots of money spend on OL next year regardless. This is a 20+ mil per year line.

If I am spending 8-9 mil on a lineman it's going to be for a franchise LT. Just my opinion.

Yep Wade Smith, Clabo would get another 1 year contract. I live in Bmore and Monroe I just did not think was a stud LT. If I went for a lt in f/a it would be Albert.

I think Z Martin can handle LT. I would roll the dice. Maybe I would consider bringing Mckinney instead of Clabo back and putting Martin at RT.

eesti none of us have any idea how to turn this thing around.

Gonna take years.

the current dolphins regime which are supposed to be pros got no idea how to turn this thing around.

How are we supposed to?

We can discuss it to death.

When someone in this universe comes up with a solution let me know.

Too bad i was hoping to see my phins win the big dance in my lifetime.

I got about 35 years left.

Sorry i will not get to see it.

I don't know about that doom and gloom stuff. I've heard some pretty decent ideas on here BUT using the 1996 Cleveland Browns model is just plain wrong. No need to go off the deep end because you revised history a little bit. smiling smiley

Don't despair Sammy.

It's all about the QB.

Either RT will be that guy or well be looking for a new qb in a year.

SEA was horrible not long ago. We can turn it around quickly if we just get better people making the decisions. Hopefully Hicky is one of those but I certainly need to see it to believe it.
And yes if RT can play at a Pro Bowl level next year, everything changes just that quickly.

My take on Monroe vs Albert....

Albert is good in pass pro but not a very good run blocker.

Monroe excels in both areas.

Monroe played on a lousy offense with terrible QB's who hold on to the ball and a terrible line so he probably didn't have much of an opportunity to look like a stud...even though most people would say he did. He gave up 4 sacks 3 hits and 17 hurries.

Albert played on an excellent offense with an efficient QB who knows how to get rid of the ball. He gave up 4 sacks, 6 hits & 13 hurries. About the same number as the guy who played next to bad players.

Albert will be 30 years old next season and missed 7 games over the last two years.

Monroe will be 27 years old and has not missed one game due to injury over the last two years.

Edit: Oh yeah...and Jeff Ireland tried to trade for Albert, not Monroe. That should be a dead give-a-way! lol

How much better would he have been with 30 fewer sacks and a 1200 yard rusher? He will continue to improve IMO. They couldn't field a worse o-line if they tried.

That's why in my original post I went to the draft for a LT. Monroe
did not look good in the running game here last year and KC had a good running game last year.

Yeah, many of the "experts" out there are saying this is the deepest draft they have seen in years.

So, just maybe Miami can get one of the top OTs at 19, and get lucky and pick up a stud with their second round pick.

Monroe is the hot name that is connected to the Fins, however, we can only hope his team doesn't resign him.

I believe I heard and/or read some time ago that Pouncey is a good guard, so if we can get a top notch center thru either FA or the draft and move Pouncey, then two positions are taken care of with the signing of one player. I realize Pouncey is an All Pro at center, but....

Berk, RT will NEVER play at a Pro Bowl level until the OLine gets straightened out. I'm not saying all of the OLmen have to be All Stars, but if they can just do the job, RT will take care of the rest.

There is a not a qb in the world that can play up to pro bowl level is he doesnt have a very good Oline.
