Read an article the other day that compared dansby, burnette, and Ellerbe stats in Miami against their stats with other teams. The bottom line is that they all get worse in Miami. Why? COACHING.

What all owners judge their GM and HC by are the players all in on the HC and did the team improve from last year and throughout the present year?

On the first one: I don't really know as the players haven't really said anything, but...if I were to guess, I would say it is (probably) a mixed bag; some for and some against.

As for the second: yes on both counts, until one looks at Miami's last two games. Now the picture become muddier. Ross has to figure out which was the real Miami Dolphins - the team that defeated the majority of the teams that are presently in the playoffs, or the one who stunk up the joint and couldn't beat an average high school team.

I truly hope Ross has some expert help to get him through this and make the correct decision.

No offense taken. LOL.

However, I am not in the "replace RT" camp.

berk, no one is saying "replace" Tanny as if to trade him or bench him. Let's just say we believe he needs someone OTHER THAN MATT MOORE looking over his shoulder.....although the problem I see is that Matt Moore is more like a father to him and what would we do with Matt Moore. I think that Matt provides him guidance by teaching and some of you believe that Tanny's growth process is not over and if you are right, then getting rid of Matt Moore and bringing in a challenger might not be the best thing to do. Unfortunately, I am not in the latter group.

Practicing all the time and playing half their games at sea level may create a slight phase distortion in the teams "emotional chakra."

Just saying. Forida is flat. And the team plays flat.

Bingo!

BNF.

dansby had a great year. no denying that but he's playing for his last contract.

I think he got lazy once he got paid. it's a risk every team runs and when you dole out those huge contracts it makes you wonder why their original team didn't retain them. sure, caps can get in the way but....

just because someone get's paid big in FA doesn't mean he's that good. He's just the best at that postion that happens to be available that year.

The coaches cut Wheeler 2 years ago and skippy brought him back with a huge raise.

Yikes!

Yea, the Wheller move and subsequent nose dive are pretty incriminating evidence to the Ireland lynch mob (who I have periodically attended open session meetings).

But not just Ireland. Hard for one to see Ross wanting to puke and still think that the head coach's job is safe.

I'm encouraged and you know where I stand....and it's NOT about firing only Ireland.

I realize not all players are at the top of the heap, pay-wise, but millions is not enough to motivate them? I believe the minimum salary is in the triple figures.

So, give these guys those types of pay checks and also add in incentives?

I think what he's saying is in lieu of the guaranteed money offer the big money in the form of incentives.
