Probably a good thing we missed the playoffs.
We just would have been embarrassed in the first round, and dropped 4-5 draft slots.

Ravens are getting smoked by the Bengals, and they're WAY better that us.

It's plain and simple, we really suck. 8-8 is even a better record than we deserve. At least half our wins were really games the other teams lost.

Our coordinators are below avg, and our Q is REALLY green and lacks moxie. Hopefully with experience, he'll gain what it takes to win consistently. Otherwise we're hosed!!

We have glaring holes at ILB, S, OL, and RB. Seriously key spots.

Now I'm really lacking confidence in Ireland's scouting dept, and player evaluation skills. Players like RT and Dion Jordan. #1 picks who shrivel in big games? Uh, no thanks?

Crossing my fingers once again for a productive off season!! It's all I've got at this point, angry smiley

That's just plain silly. Tannehill made enough of an improvement over last season that he deserves another year to see where he goes from here.

Yes as a second stringer. I was his biggest fan and said what you said last year, now I want an experienced QB.

Unknown now. Maybe we suck to get a luck out of college in the next few years.

Some of you need to take a deep breath. Two weeks ago we had a very slight shot at the #2 seed and some of you bought into the hype.
Where we are now is certainly a disappointing reality compared to the dream but the facts are that we are an average team.
While not the superbowl it's certainly better than being a below average team.
Let's hope Ross does the right thing.

I've seen all I need to see. He has had two years. He just does not have the passing ability.

And all you guys are the main ones defending the coaches for NOT running the read option.

So if today didn't convince you that Tanny IS NOT a drop back QB, then I don't know what will bring you around.

It certainly convinced me to give up hope on him.

And hey, the dude is from Amarillo, Texas, not far from where I grew up.

I've defended the guy for 2 years but they decided to play him today all the way as a pocket qb.

Interestingly, he really did not have as bad a day at sacks as usual this year. He had some but protection was not the problem. He threw but he just was awful when he did it.

Hooligan, had we been blown out in the last two games and thoroughly dominated by any of the teams that are in the playoff scene, then we would see your point.

We just happened to get outscored 37-7 in two games by two teams that are not in the playoff hunt at all.

Yes, this was after a win at New England (which we came within a whisker of losing) but these two teams were pathetic and we lost to them. One at home even.

Yeah...sorry...but that's bullshit.

You don't get to cry for us to cut our 2nd year QB in favor of an "experienced" QB without having a gameplan to replace him. That's beyond being an overly reactionary fan, its just stupid.

think about it and get back to us...

Anyone who watched the chargers game just saw a team who capitalized on an opportunity sitting right in front of them. They played with emotion, desire, and urgency. They made it happen when it counted. Congrats to those fu&kers because Miami beat them too.

Even though it was against KC second stringers, I'd say overall KC 2nds are as good as buffalo 2nds, which is basically what Miami played last week.

Yea, 'give the kid time to develop'...right?? Sorry we heard that with Henne while we wasted good RBs all those first round lineven and a receiver that is going to the pro bowl this year. tanne-henne-hill has had two complete years of un injured, unchallenged starting. he still can't find receivers from the pocket, still regularly misses open deep receivers and shows little to no fire or leadership. i wanted him yo be great too but the last two games were the perfect opportunity to shine...he folded like the rest of the team.

you realize they won because kc missed a 40 yard fg with .04 left in regulation.

Hey they at least gave themselves a shot to win it which is far more than I can say about Miami. They got the chance and took it. Miami just flat out sucked shit and it showed. Not even competitive in the least.

my biggest issue is that we seem to lose playing with no heart just when you would think we would be stepping it up. Perhaps it is my perception based on my hopes for the team that makes me see them as showing no heart at crucial games but it seems to be prevelant with this team like no other. Had we lost either of these games in a well played down to hte wire game like i have been wacthing in other games this weekend it would be much easier to take esp given that we were not going anywhere in the playoffs if we got in. I just cant understand why this team always fails in embarrassing at crunch time dating even back into the end of the marino era. oh btw only saw the quik replay but who was our lb who got run over by geno on the td? That is the lack of heart that makes me question my loyalty to this team

they were outplayed by the chiefs 2nd string and dodged a bullet with a miss fg to end it.

sure we sucked ass but don't get carried away.

I think the point is that even if you say the chiefs 2ns outplayed them we dont even seem to play. 7 points in 2 must win games against teams out of the hunt is painful for a fan to accept. I have to admit i am leaning away from t-hill as well. Plays like the slide short of the 1st down today(admittedlty i didnt see it) have put huge doubs in my mind that he has the "it" factor a winning qb needs.

It's called a like-comparison under similar circumstances. No one got carried away. Did you watch the game? Did you see the end result? They came back and won when it mattered. Yea they dodged a fg bullet but it wasn't a gimme by any stretch. It was a 48 yd fg to win it and he missed. The defense at least held them to a long fg rather than letting them jam it down there throat and put the game away, ie the opposite of what Miami did.

So again, comparatively, Miami blew it twice when the money's all in, and San Diego seized the opportunity.

Uh, dolfan, RT is an experienced QB....two years under his belt, and improvement from year one to year two.

Sure, RT has some off season work to do, which he will, but have you ever played QB at any level? I'm only asking because it is extremely difficult to be back there looking for a receiver when you have 300+ lb linemen bearing down on you (and this year especially, pounding you to the ground).

Sure, you get someone like Marino back there and he won't get sacked as much (but he may get hit just as often).

Taking a beating like that definitely has an effect on how a QB plays.

Let's get him a better offensive line and see how he does.

jsm08, I understand where you are coming from, and I agree.

But, I don't think any coaching candidate would look at the Dolphins' job as one being "win in two years or you're out." Ross has a tough decision because of how this whole season played out.

Started 3-0, then lost 4 straight. Martin-Incognito fiasco happened. Miami goes on another winning streak in Dec and knocking off the Pats. Then the last two games.

This season was way too messy. I am sure that if the coaching staff (and GM) are let go, that the candidate will have already looked at what happened and understand the situation and the reasoning behind the firings.

The key, tho, will be the situation with the GM and HC relationship. Does Ireland stay and Philbin goes? Does Philbin stay and Ireland goes?

Much to contemplate and I;'m sure that's why we haven't heard anything, as yet, from Ross.
